Marathon Weekend 2026

Normal food and drink rules don't apply after a race....it can all be good (even parking lot beers)
I love me a good parking lot beer. Any IPA's available in the post race area? I am also one of these weird people that do not want to eat much of anything until the next day after a marathon and to a extent a half. Not sure what thats all about but I hope I get hungry enough to get my carrot cake cookie in DHS Sunday evening.

Last year they had Goose Island which is ok I guess. I’d prefer they had Jai Alai which they seem to have everywhere else on property.

For those of you just arriving and getting to the EXPO today or just walking around in general, are you in shorts/t-shirts? Sorry for such a mindless question but I am totally overthinking what to wear on the plane (from Detroit) tomorrow AM. We should hopefully arrive by 10am and plan to drop off our stuff at the resort and then head to expo. If I am in track pants and thin long sleeve t-shirt, will I be too warm? Wondering if I need to plan an outfit change before the EXPO if the room is not ready....

Been dealing with such frigid temps here that I am hesitant about putting those shorts on...lol.

Saw a post from someone who had what's basically a PBJ Honey Stinger waffle????
Mine did as well and I tried it. Interesting is how I would describe it (and unexpected since I didn’t read the label before I bit into it). Of course I am also the person who allegedly tried the toast with the plastic cheese so my pallet is not what they would call sophisticated.

Definitely shorts weather but not terribly warm either. I haven’t worn long pants since we got here (Tuesday). But I have worn a long sleeve on the buses.

You should be fine

Definitely shorts weather. I'd still wear a jacket in air-conditioned buildings, but that's my preference.

Just have a change of clothes that you can quickly grab out of your luggage when you get to the room, you have plenty of time before expo closes.

Edit:just saw your next reply, I should note I'm not squeamish about changing in bathroom stalls lol

So jealous about the 5k characters having such unique Lilo and Stich characters!!!
I also love that it looks like they are bringing back Star Wars characters for Marathon if that becomes a thing always having them there, I would love it. Love any star wars I can get. I waited forever for Mando at Wine and Dine... the longest line I have ever waited in and soo worth it.

I can't run this year but I'm coming up on Saturday so I can watch the marathon bright and early (or should I say dark and early) on Sunday morning. I've never just watched the races before and while I'm disappointed not to be running, I am excited about cheering everyone on as a spactator.

I've heard that sometimes park guests will hold out beers for runners to grab as they go by, towards the end of World Showcase. I've never seen this myself, but I'm usually not too far ahead of the balloon ladies, so maybe it's different towards the end.

Do people really do this? I would love to buy some runners some beers, but I don't want to feel like an idiot holding a beer out towards the race path if no one is going to take it from me. I don't even drink beer!

Anyone been to the expo yet today? Curious how it compares to yesterday.
We were there from 2:50 pm to 3:15. No issues what so ever. Lots of goofy merch still, not a lot of the other stuff. Obviously we quickly looked at stuff breezed through pick up and left.

At BWI and heading to Topolinos for dinner. Rough drive in from Atlanta today took an hour longer than usual. Glad I have tomorrow to walk around.
