Can't believe we are leaving in less than a month for our first trip to WDW! WHOO-HOOO!

Anyways, would like to know upfront what are some things I definitely want to make sure I come home with in my luggage!

What do you buy?

What do you wish you had bought?

Thanks!

I wish I had bought cd's of the ride music. But I am going back in Dec and will buy them then. It would make me feel like I am in WDW!

I bought an inexpensive ($20) character watch, and decided that will be my new souvenir. Over age 50 with a Winnie the Pooh watch, and thinking about Piglet next!

I wish I had paid more attention to the Mr. Potato Head accessories that are Disney related. I will be getting some of those in December at the toy store in DTD to go with Darth Tater.

Last trip I had about $40 on a Disney Visa rewards card and I used it to buy a charm bracelet and a charm from each park and a couple from the gift shop @resort that were special to me. It's the best reminder of one of our best trips ever. We also buy the refillable mug @our resort and love to use them at home. Have a great trip!

On our last trip I got a unframed poster of a panoramic shot of the Magic Kingdom castle at dusk. Its great. DH said, hey do you just want to get all 4 and put them up in the living room. I said, no..( because I was thinking it was going to cost a lot to have them framed) I'll just get one and we can get another on our next trip. Man oh Man do I wish I got more. All we get are such amazing comments about that photo. We ended up getting it framed at Costco for $60!) Some of our friends just stare at it and all the detail . Defiantly if I dont get them all Im getting the Epcot one.

What great ideas! Being a first timer to WDW I would not have thought of some of these.

Keep 'em coming! I'm making my list!

My favorite are magnets. Every year I get one or two and hang them on my fridge. Every day I look at them and the memories flood back. They are small and inexpensive and every year they have seemed to come out with a new design that I just have to get.

We have begun making it a tradition to get a frig magnet of the resort where we stayed. It is my goal to eventually stay at all of them, so our frig will eventually be covered up in Disney! Also there is a very cool magnet you can get at several of the shops (Emporiun at MK) at most parks. It is blue and has Mickey and all the park icons on it, and little characters on little springs that dance around it. I love that magnet - one of my all time favorite souvenirs!

One of the best Disney souvenirs I bought was a Wishes CD. It was only $13 and I LOVE it! I listen to it alot when I'm here on the DIS or missing Disney and it just takes me right back! Best $13 I ever spent!

Another favorite souvenir of mine is coffee mugs! I am a big coffee lover and probably have about 200 mugs and I think about 1/2 are Disney ones. WDW has some very cool ones...so when I get home I can have little Disney with my coffee every morning!

Also keep your eyes out for the character shaped pens. I have a couple Mickeys, Minnie, Donald and Tigger. They are fun to keep in your pencil jar on your desk. I keep hoping they will come out with a castle shaped pen, but I haven't seen it yet!

The best souvenirs we ever got are the coconuts cups that are carved in the shape of monkeys that you get at the Adventurers Club or sometimes at Typhoon Lagoon. When we brought them back to the hotel, even some cast members demanded to know where we got them. They are the perfect addiditon to our Tiki bar, and great conversation starters.

We always pick up a Christmas ornament that has the year on it. Then when we decorate our tree we remember our trips all over again! :rotfl:

I'm collecting resort magnets ... someday I hope to have stayed in all the resorts.

I also get a box of potato heads parts each trip ... seems like they are always adding fun new pieces!

We love getting the magnets that are a clip and have the year on them. We also get a magnet from our resort.

Last trip I got one of the charm braclets and spent a fortune buying charms. It was worth it - I wear it all the time.

I also got the Magic in the Streets CD. Next trip I will be sure to pick up a few more of those type of CDs.

Ditto, to the wishes CD. It always lifts my spirits. Sometimes I play it when the kids are getting ready in the morning. By the time we leave we are all in good moods.

I bought the "Spectromagic" CD last trip :goodvibes. I listen to it: "in the car", " when I`m out shopping, and in the house when I`m missing WDW. ;)
Helps me get by, until our next trip!!

for the college student like myself, shot glasses are clutch, very useful.

Before children:
pictures
Magnets
Shot glasses
Pamphlets/brochures/maps etc that are free
Postcards
Holiday/celebration type stuff (usually I just get the magnet/free stuff and a mug or whatever I think is neat)

now that we have children:
TONS of pictures ( I should've bought an album....duh)
magnets (they love to play with them)
pamphlets/brochures/maps etc that are free (times like 6 b/c they also like to "read" them and they usually end up ripped)
postcards
holiday/celebration stuff (postcards and toys that I can find)
shot glasses aren't so much of a priority anymore b/c kid's shirts or toys or whatever they like have taken over

We just got back and ds (12) and I have really been enjoying listening to our Happiest Celebration CDs. It's a 2-CD set with all the park music, etc. Very fun, and takes you right back to WDW! It was $24.98 IIRC.

We collect magents, too. We were disappointed that we couldn't find a magnet at POR. We thought about trying to make the POR pin into a magnet, but decided against it. Do other resorts have magnets?
