Decided to check, and :cool1:. I was able to get Hartford/BDL non-stop r/t to MCO for 250.00 p.p. :)

Checked when I got up around 6:30am and they were up....:cool1:...booked islip-Orlando 10/24-10/28 for $105 each way....Hope everyone gets their flights at a price they are happy with :)

Not great rates out of PHL for our dates, booked JetBlue out of Newark instead, saved $73, just glad to have this done.

Me too! $249.20 to be exact!:rolleyes1 10/19 - 10/26. Better than JetBlue for those dates, plus it gets us in to MCO @ 9:10 AM!

Just booked our return flight home. Not real thrilled with the price of $143, out of BWI, but figured the price would just keep going up. Oh well, at least we are going to disney..

For us, Jet Blue out of Newark was almost $39 per person cheaper than Southwest out of Philly (saving $156 total).

Hope everyone gets a great reservation! Airfares are getting higher and higher each year!! :confused3

Fall 2008 I paid $59 each way out of Philly on Southwest airlines...less than $600 total for four round trip tickets! Those days are GONE!!

Yikes...I was hoping for mid October to get cheaper rates....these are twice what I'm paying for June rates....*sigh* Think I'll go price a couple other airlines real quick first....

Fall of 2008 we paid $69.00 pp each way out of BDL . . . I miss those good old Days too!h

We booked our flight to mco but did not the return nonstop times so we booked AirTran on the way back. I hope the schedules don't change too much

Wasn't thrilled with the schedule for our dates, we only fly direct and the choices were limited I thought. Plus I had enough points for a free roundtrip, but only if the flight was arond $250. I had to play with our arrival/departure dates but made it work. Not 100% thrilled with flight times but at least I was able to get direct flights and mine was free so I am happy with that. It will our first trip with out the kids and our first Food and Wine. We are excited. :thumbsup2

No luck for us!:sad1:
Fares are just as high, if not higher, than fares that have already been out for us. I was hoping for some really good prices.
Congrats to everyone that scored great fares!

Us too . . . booked them separate legs hoping for a bit of a price break for future travel . . .:wizard:

We are going 10/3 - 10/6 to celebrate our 25th Anniversary . . .we are going in April for F&G Festival and while there, going to book the BB for the October trip!:cool1:

The Southwest schedule from Philly is much worse than previous years - only one non stop going down on 10/3 for example. AirTran has a large schedule.

I think we are seeing them prepare for the merger of schedules - we go down every October for FWF and this is very much out of the ordinary.

I bet in places where AirTran does not have a big presence the schedules are not too bad. But in Philly, there are so many AirTran flights, that there is no need to have a big SW schedule.

I read that SW anticipates a single carrier license in the first quarter of 2012. They also plan to use SW policies - free bags, etc., so I am hoping that if we book AirTran, some of the fees will be reimbursed?

Us either, and I can't find anything any cheaper. I'm actually trying to decide whether we should even take the trip at this point as the cheapest tickets are almost $400 per person and we can't drive as it was meant to be a long weekend trip. I just knew that mid October would have nice rates...But I've looked at the entire month and no one way tickets for under $189....

ETA: Found the view where you can see the entire month...I planned to take a friday and monday off work and fly Thursday/MOnday, but by moving it to flying thursday/sunday, we might be able to make it work....Love that monthly view.

There's nothing less than $227-$230 one way for us. I'm hoping that it's still early and will keep watching.

With fuel prices rumored to start climbing again, that pricing didn't drop doesn't surprise me. Actually, for me, from the west coast, they really haven't gone up much in recent months ($232 each way). What I was most frustrated with this morning was the posting of the next schedule release date. I need to book November 8 & 17. The next release is May (not March, but MAY) 21st! My pre-cruise hotel and rental car arrangements are kind of dependent on having the flights booked first. I'm so antsy to get all that part of the planning done! DH & I have over 100,000 points to use, so another airline really isn't an option, especially since legacy airlines are the only other choices (at >$600 round trip per person) from where we are.

Oh well......

My dates are 7/25 to 8/4 PHL to MCO...right now I am looking at $270/pp...i guess I should jump on that. Its only at $20 difference from your fares. Maybe I shouldn't hold out much longer.

DH will not consider going to newark. To save $73/pp, he may reconsider. But for a total savings of $73 he wont do it. We live near Philly and Newark is quite a hike for us. Too bad, because I always wanted to try JetBlue at least once.

OMG....dont even mention it! I remember those days. In fact, my first year to Orlando (2007) I paid $79. Then that following year $59!!! I remember it like it was yesterday!! I could really use those fares today!!! :lmao:

I also fly out of Philly. I think I recall last year, after August, Southwest had limited flight selections. I also chalked it up to the merger since AirTran seem to have a larger schedule. I hope Southwest doesn't limit its flights out of PHL. I flew Airtran last year. It was fine, but with the baggage fees, they are not cheaper nor equal to southwest fares. At least for me they aren't. Last year, I panicked and bought my tickets early out of anticipation of higher prices. I flew United from PHL and flew Airtran back from MCO. I was very disappointed because to my surprise, SW lowered their fares just 2 weeks after I purchased. I dont mind Airtran at all, and it would be nice if they drop their baggage fees too.

The PHL-MCO schedule is awful! I can't believe how over the years it's gradually gone from around 6 non stops per day to just 2; the lastest one being a 9:30am departure. We need to fly down on a Fri after school for a Sat cruise. Any flight after school would have us arriving at almost midnight. Ridiculous for a 2 hr flight. I'm not having ds15 miss another day of school & have to pay $145 one way! yikes!

I grabbed Air Tran for $118 so even with luggage & seating it's cheaper and they have a 4pm non stop. At least the kids can have a 1pm early dismissal and not be marked absent.
:headache:

I think it will be even worse once the merger is complete and there's one less company to compete with.
