Southwest Sale!!!

When tickets go on sale and you have existing reservations, Southwest will let you change your tickets for the sale price? Do they give you credits to use or will they credit your credit card?

Thanks in advance!

They will allow you to do this or even cancel and rebook a different flight. Pretty much any cancellation or reduction in fare will result in a credit for a future flight with a 1 year expiration. I have almost $400 in credits from one of the Ding sales and rebooking several flights and trading a frequent flyer trip that was about to expire. My brother had booked a flight for cash so I had him cancel and rebook with my FF reward. Now I just need to figure out when I can go back.

:p fooey, no sale for my flights, keep waiting waiting waiting...., i think i have played this game before :confused3

We had a DING for $59, now only paying $49. Now if I can just get a later flight for Sunday then it would definately make my day!

Called and asked for help. It was my silly mistake - too excited I guess. I changed our tickets and saved over $400.

LOL - good for you - I find them really helpful at the call centre. In Feb I managed to snag a $29 each way flight and I had to call them to make sure I was doing it right - I was shaking - the things we get excited about LOL (but like you I saved close to $400 so I guess it's OK to get a little excited). :dog2:

May change my flight too - Manchester is now $59 Saturday morning. Good price.

I booked a Ding $54 1-way on Monday with a $60 credit I had. I was tired of waiting for the $49. Couldn't get a cheap fare for the return. Tuesday Ding comes up with $60 for my return date so I go to book that only to see that there are other fares available for $49 each way. So I rebook the $54 1-way @ $49 & get a credit that I use to book a 1-way return. Total out of pocket for me for this trip is $55.40. I didn't get the flight I wanted for the return but I'm going to keep checking. There is always hope. This just confirms my belief that you can always get a cheaper fare than what comes up on Ding with a little perseverance. I say book the flight you want when the fare seems reasonable & keep checking as often as possible for a better deal that you can rebook. And being a little flexible with your flight times helps.

was referring in particular to the 49$ fares not being good until the end of schedule, only until november 17

Rebooked my Oct trip for 2 and got a credit of $120 to use toward our March trip. THANK YOU!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

When I saw they dropped the prices I was shocked that they credited my credit card for the difference. Whe I called they said as long as I didn't change my lfight schedule they would refund my money opposed to giving me flying credit.

We now have a credit for $207.00.
