southwest rewards program

Is anyone on the Southwest rewards program? It sounds pretty easy 8 round trip in one year and you get 1 free. Can someone tell me the down side of the program?

If you don't earn the reward ticket in one year, the points don't carry forward.

we are rr members but we also have a southwest visa, and earn more points that way since we generally only fly once or twice a year.

REALLY NO DOWN SIDE. You have to accumulate your credits in a 12 month period and have 12 months to use your RR ticket. You get free drink coupons with your RR ticket.

Positive, you get bonus credits if you book online. The tickets have a few black out dates AND ARE NOT CAPACITY CONTROLLED. If there is an empty seat on the plan it's yours.
