I opened a southwest card with the 50,000 points promotion, spent the $2,000. On the first statement, there were 2,000 points on there for spending, but not the 50,000. Does anyone know how long it takes to see and be able to use those points?

Fine print:
This new cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of this consumer credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of this consumer credit card who received a new cardmember bonus for this consumer credit card within the last 24 months. To qualify for your bonus points, you must make Purchases totaling $2,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus points to post to your Rapid Rewards account. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like charges such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.) To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.

For me they came on at the statement close date after I spent the 2000. If they didn't process this time I'd expect them to show up at the end of your next billing cycle.

It does say allow 6-8 weeks, but mine have always been there in 2-3 days after the statement closed.

I don't remember seeing the bonus points on my statement; they've always been automatically deposited in my rapid rewards account. Check your RR account balance at southwest.com

Yes, this is also true, although they would probably show on the second statement as points earned.

This, about 2 days after statement close. I don't recall ever seeing them on the following statement, but they could have been there.

Just for fun, I went back and checked my statement from a year ago, and it does show the additional 50000 on the next statement. But they were in my account only a couple of days after the closing of the previous statement.

I was just told that if the 2,000 points posted but not the 50,000 that the 50,000 would post next month. Called the 800 number on the back of the card. They said if they were both going to post this cycle, they would have done so hand in hand and appeared as 52,000. So ... boo. I was hopeful I could snag tickets while the prices are good and flight not sold out. Lots are selling out when we want to fly. But, can't complain much about free flights ;).

Keep checking your rapid rewards account. Mine have always appeared within 2 to 3 days.
