I'm heading to WDW in mid-December and was wondering when Southwest will make flights available for that time frame? I was just on their site and it looks like they are taking reservations into September now. I want to be ready to grab a low fare as soon as it hits.

They generally release their rates 4-6 months in advance. They just released their dates recently, I would not expect much before mid April.

Thanks for your help. Was able to get a great deal for the rest of the trip and am hoping to nab a great fare for the flight.

TERK: Don't forget to download their DING! program. It pops an alert onto your computer with special fares. I'm going in Oct. and hoping to get dinged w/ a great offer from Louisville to MCO between now and then.

Last year we were not able to purchase 11/13 tickets until the 2nd week in July. I am hoping that we will not have to wait that long this year!! :flower:

Amen to Ding! You get Rapid Rewards credit for downloading it and running it for a month, and we were able to take advantage of a great special already. They seem to Ding about once a day, but it's not always for our chosen cities.

I was told the exact date Southwest was going to release our dates (for April), and was even told it would happen between 10:00 and 2:00...well, I was on the computer at 9:50, kept refreshing the page, and at 10:05 the new dates were listed. I must have been one of the first to book, and still paid $312 per person round trip Hartford to Orlando. I still dont know how the cheaper rates were taken before I got to them, unless since it was spring break time, Southwest wasnt going to even offer the lower rate : (

Thanks! Never heard of "Ding" before, but am downloading it as we speak.

Remember that a lot of times, the cheapest SW fares are not always available when SW first releases dates. Often times, the cheapest fares are released later. The way I handle it is if i know that I want the earliest flight that leaves from PVD and the latest flgiht that leaves MCO (maximizing my Mickey Time) then I book that early - when flights first come out - so that I get my times. Then, I check for discounts (usually everyday). When the prices go down, I change my reservation. There is no charge for that, but the difference is saved as a SW credit, to use in the future. As long as you fly SW at least once a year, the credit hopping system works.
