Question...we are traveling with my 6 year old, 2 year old, and 1 year old. I had to book three separate times since we paid with LUV vouchers, cash, and points (I know I could've done the first two together, but didn't realize I didn't have enough points until it was too late so I had to do 3 separate transactions). Is there a way to link all the reservations under one account? I tried calling and she said no, but i may not have been explaining it right.
Secondly, I didn't see anywhere to put that I am traveling with a lap child, do I need to indicate that at all or do I just show up with her and have her birth certificate to prove age? I thought I had to have some sort of pass, but I didn't see anywhere online to fill it out.

For lap child yes you need to book them. I would call South West and have them add the lap child. You will need a boarding pass for the lap child when you go through security. There is no way to link all the reservations. If you are worried about not having the same boarding numbers you can board with family boarding which is between A and B.

IME SWA has great customer service - first I would call to see if you can link all the reservations and add the lap rider. If so you should be able to check in all at once and ease that process. All of your children qualify for family boarding but honestly if you are not traveling with another adult and can afford it I would add EBCI to better ensure you can all be seated together.

At the airport you will be asked to verify the lap rider age by producing the birth certificate (I think you already know that but want to be sure) this is one thing that SWA does regardless of the infant/toddler's age.

Before you decide to rely on family boarding I would suggest researching your flight to see if it is the 2nd leg of either a connecting or continuing flight. If it is the 2nd leg of a connecting flight the folks who boarded the flight elsewhere got their boarding passes at T24 their first flight (ahead of you!). If it is a continuing flight their will be passengers already onboard and they can move and take the forward/desirable seats.

Having flown as the solo adult with my kids many times I have found that its penny wise and pound foolish sometimes .... I always either pay for the assigned seat or purchase EBCI for the automatic 36 hour check in.

This is Southwest; what assigned seat?

OP, you cannot combine separate reservations under one PNR (passenger name record); Southwest gave you the correct information.

You need to call Southwest and add the lap infant.

OP go ahead and call to add your infant- then just write down the names/ id numbers of each flight for each person- it's simple enough, and you will be fine, I do it all the time. I would also buy EBCI to be safe, I'd want to be seated as early as possible with little kiddos9this doesn't guarantee A group boarding, but gives you a better shot at it) and if you pay for EBCI and get a B pass, no worries just do family boarding which is after A but before B..... head for the back of the plane and you should have no issues sitting together with that strategy. (If you decide not to do EBCI, I usually open a window per reservation when checking in at the 24 hr mark, easy enough to do) You're still traveling together, no worries!

Sorry I was unclear - I meant I pay for either EBCI or assigned seats depending on the airline.
