Southwest $$ Question

We bought our tickets a few months ago for $79 each way. I just checked Southwest's website and our return flight is now down to $69 each way (internet special is the rate). Can I call and get a voucher/refund for the difference? What do I say when I call? I think I have heard of others on here doing this?

Yes, call them right away and they will reimburse you for the difference. I was so surprised, but they did it for me. They said they would have to wait to mail me the check til after our trip, but the money was refunded to my debit card in about 3 weeks. I could have had the money refunded or saved it for another SW trip. Good deal.

This happened to us last year and we called right away and they told us that they wouldn't be able to refund us until after the trip. We needed to keep a copy of our old confirmation and then our new one and after the trip, I called and they gave me the address of where to send the paperwork for a refund and I sent it, and my credit card was refunded. Good luck.

I don't believe they'll be able to do a straight refund over the phone since it's an internet special, which they don't have access to. You'll have to cancel the old tickets and use the confirmation # as a credit for the new tickets (which you'll have to purchase online) and have the remaining as a credit for future travel. This is what they had me do a couple months ago. Just call and they'll walk you through it all.

If you booked on the internet, you'll have better luck. We booked via the phone in January b/c we traveled with an infant and needed to ask questions . They took care of it, but in March the price went down 50%. yes nearly 50%! Called them back and they said b/c the internet rate is the 50% rate, they couldn't do anything b/c we booked on the phone. Said I coul cancel, get a credit, rebook...too much hassle.

I didn't bother.

Makes me not want to book so early anymore (this was for an April trip).
