Southwest promotion codes

I recently received a promotional code to use on for Southwest airfares, but I cannot figure out where to key it in on their website. Any one have any insight? Thanks.

Is the promotional code for airfare or vacation package? I don't see a spot for airfare promo code but there is one for SWA vacations.
I think that when there is current promo codes there is a place to put it. Are you sure it's current? (I hope it is!)

"Picked up another SWA 15% off code.

Purchase 9/9/03 - 9/25/03, for travel between 9/12/03 - 1/16/04.

The Promo box isn't on SWA.com right now, but I'm guessing it will appear Tuesday AM (9/9) somce the promo is not valid until then."

Is this code the same one that you received? We'll have to see Tuesday if there is a place to enter the code.

Yes, I received the same code. It will not appear on the SW
site until tomorrow am.

Hope you don't mind me asking, but where did you find out about the code? I've signed up for rapid rewards with SW and I know they send out emails on Tues and Thurs, but how did you find out about it already?

Just curious if I would be able to use it.

I'm on the fench right now with SW and Delta, but to save alittle more may make SW look better right now.

I received a post card in the mail. I think they send them out randomly to Sothwest RR members. I once used the code that was posted, and it worked. I don't think it is member specific, so it is great when somone posts it. I have no problem sending it out to anyone who asks, but I know the boards might not like it posted. So anyone interested ...

If it is different can you please pm me. I registered just myself for RR and probably will not bother using my number unless I need to for the discount. Do you know if I need to be registered for everyone in my family to use the discount?

FYI... The promo code box is on the SWA web site now, but doesn't look like it is working yet. I keyed in the code and got an error saying that the code was not valid for the dates entered. Looks like it won't actually be active until tomorrow.

does anyone know if you can use this code against travel that is already booked and readjust your fare? Can you use the Travel Center "Change Itinerary" option with a discount code? Thanks, Jo

Yes, you can use it if the dates are in the correct range for the coupon.

If for some reason it will not work, make sure you the flights are available for your dates and if they are, cancel the original and rebook. Really simple to do.

You would need to go to Southwest.com and cancel your existing reservations, and then rebook with the code, and apply the funds for the cancelled reservation to the new fare. If it is cheaper, you will have a credit left. An important suggestion .... be sure there is still availability BEFORE cancelling your existing reservation. I have done this on numerous occassions.

It is for Rapid Rewards members, but, not everyone you book needs to be a RR member. Also, check the dates that this discount is applicable.

The guidelines for the offer are as follows:
Purchase tickets at southwest.com
between Sept 9, 2003 and Sept. 25, 2003
good for travel from Sept. 12, 2003 through Jan 16, 2004
Tickets must be purchased at least 3 days in advance of travel date.
15% discount applies. I believe at least one traveler must
be a Rapid Rewards Member, not sure if all travelers need
to be members. I never tried to book a non-RR member, since
all of our family travelers are members. It only takes a few minutes
to apply for membership. At least ONE traveler must be a RR member.

**One additional note - I just tried to make a reservation with the code and the following notice was posted on the page:

"Save 15% on all fares, except fares in the Refundable Anytime or Special Fares columns"

Just wanted everyone to be aware of this! Check that there are definitely acceptable flights available for the discount BEFORE you cancel your existing flights. I was just checking to see if I could
lower an airfare I had for Christmastime, but there were not any flights available that I could apply the discount to.

I just booked airfare for the 4 of us for 12/18 returning on 12/23 and saved $150!!!

I used my RR number and had no problem with the discount. I did have available flights for the advance purchase fare for trip down and promotional fare for return.

We are not all signed up for RR because this will be our last trip to Disney for a while....next up is a Alaskan Cruise!
