Southwest Prices for Sept!

I don't know what's going on with SW, but I booked our June trip (in 5 weeks!!) the day the fares were released. Internet fares were not available. We paid $300 rt, 6 people!! Of course, I was assuming they'd eventually come down, have a sale, release internet fares, Dings.... NOT. I've been checking about 4 times/day - if I had a dollar for every time I'd checked, I'd have these tickets paid off!! This morning, fares are UP $2!
I can't understand why SW releases ridiculously low fares for some cities, while ours (Louisville) is still high. And even more, Fun Fares are still available, which means the planes still have a bunch of empty seats.
Still wishing for pixie dust and a ding....

Kpal, any chance you can use Indy? I did same thing, booked on released date then watched the fares drop to half. I am not booking Sept til they come down. I don't understand what is going on??????

SW deals can come either as "internet specials" or as Dings. Usually, the people who snag them play the "SW game"..................checking the website a few times a day for specials (especially Tuesdays) and keeping an ear open for those Dings.
In general, there isn't a pattern to which airports they grant Dings for; I'd guess bookings dictate that. But they seem to be an "equal opportunity Dinger and Specials-giver" to all.
SW's motto isn't "fly the friendly skies"; it's actually "You snooze, you lose!"

I'm just going to wait for the Ding fares. Last year we took a last minute Disney trip and booked our Ding flights 2 weeks out at $40 one way. When the Ding fares come out for Sept I think a lot of people will be happy. Patience Grasshopper
