Southwest new booking window

Ugh! Playing around with dates and airports...found it for $134 each way...and now it won't let me book......:rotfl2:

Nice!!! Wish we got better deals around here but SW knows they are one of the only ones with non stops from the closest airport. Still beat some other airlines by at least $100. Have a great trip!! :)

Are you flying out of Texas? Which airport?

Dallas is almost always cheaper for me than Houston...occasionally we fly out of Houston..It's not a big deal for me either way as it's about 3 hours to each airport from where I live.

Note: This time it's not MCO though. We are going on a Disney Cruise out of NY this summer.

I just booked, wow that was stressful LOL! I needed to book 4 people, each with 2 one way tickets, with 2 different RR accounts! They didn't have the flights and days I really wanted, so I had to shift 1 day, and fly out a bit earlier than I wanted, but at least it's done!

Neither of mine are nonstop flights. That has never really mattered to us. We don't mind the layovers as long as they are long enough that we aren't RUNNING to the next one.

Mine was kind of complicated too as we could fly out of Houston or Dallas and into New York or New Jersey both ways, and it didn't have to be the same going and coming as my mom is going to pick us up at our "home" airport so we could have flown out of Dallas and into Houston or vice versa....And if that wasn't complicated enough, we want to do a couple days in New York. I was planning them before the cruise, but airfare was MUCH cheaper to only fly in one day before the cruise and then add those couple days on at the end...so I was trying all kinds of scenarios before I bought....:rotfl2:

I'm wondering if we missed the best prices! Been up and at computers since 6 am eastern time (two of them with dd help!) and still only got 139 pp each way. It seemed like we couldnt see when new fares were actually out despite constant refreshing . Dd could see on her lap top before I could get it to come up on my desk top a couple minutes later!

I was doing a lot of refreshing once they were released (which wasn't until the last 45 minutes or hour or so) and my prices didn't change as I was trying out scenarios...I bet that was the best opening price....

But remember to keep checking (especially on Tuesday/Wednesdays off and on) as they may show up lower between now and travel time and you can get those credits. I try to remember to pull mine up a couple times each week.

Well that's a great price to NYC!

We're trying to get Dallas to MCO for our cruise in June. I guess I"ll keep stalking the internet for the next few months.

You sound like me...even getting good prices I'll keep checking it a couple times a week to look for even a few dollars cheaper to get back in credits to use for future trips.

Thanks for the advice! We have done that in the past but unfortunately I don't envision us being able to use the credits since they need to be used by booking not travel date ( and now only by the person booked). So unless there is a huge price difference, the credits won't do us much good- which is why booking now was sooo hard. But we hated to wait and possibly pay even more- we need those dates due to DVC committed point ressies. Oh well- guess we will have to live with it. We also quickly looked into jet blue, but last year we had an issue with them really changing our flight time- late evening to early afternoon which would have cost us a whole day at Disney (ended extending stay by one day to recoup lost time)

I had to shift my days by one as well as I was booking one flight using the old awards. I got $124 pp from Chicago so I thought that was ok - some flights were $113 but not for the times I wanted.

Glad it's done! Now the fun planning part!

When are your dates and what airport are you flying out of? I can't find a return flight for less than $199! We might be driving...

After much drama, contemplating changing our dates, etc.... we're booked for nonstop out of KC on the dates we originally had planned.

Ironically, we could have booked for the exact same prices through Air Tran out of the town where we live (the prices dropped almost simultaneously with the SW release) but we would have had to switch planes and pay for bags, so we'll drive to KC for nonstop and no bag fees.

I've heard that many times about Jet Blue but never flown with them. $139 is still not bad nowadays for flights so I think you did ok.

I love being able to look at different days so easily on the SW site to switch things around.

I'm flying from Dallas to New Jersey. June 16/July 3.

Flights from Providence were $134 each way, so we ended up booking Jetblue out of Boston for $250 round trip, still direct. It's a great price, and even better since we had points on a credit card. Either way we wouldn't have paid for the flight, but I'm feeling good about the value (and the TVs to keep my 2 preschoolers occupied on the plane!)

Smiles,
Kristen

Ugh, higher than I had hoped they be.
Also... not many nonstops either. Really only one nonstop each way that would work for us. Have a credit to use so want to book, but want the price to be better than $119 pp each way. Not sure if price on those nonstops will go down much, as there aren't many of them though.
