Not sure if it's been announced here.

The PassPorter just announced that Southwest will now be partcipating in the Resort Check In for all resorts at Disney. I"m not sure when starts officially.

I wish they would have done this two weeks ago for our recent trip.

If so, that'll be great! :thumbsup2 I can't use it for my 2010 trips (booked JB for return flights), but now I'll have options for 2011. :cool1:

Warning on this post!!!

If it's the post I just looked at they were talking about the OP was talking about staying at one of the all star resorts. They had expanded the test phase to that resort a while ago!! Soooooo, until I see something different it is probably still in a test phase at POP and all stars!!

edit: I'm not saying MAYBE it isnt true, but I can find nothing to point to anything other then the test phase.

We just got back and Southwest was still just doing the pilot program.....and only at the values.

There is no where on PassPorter's website where they "officially" announced the expansion of the pilot program.

I found a thread where on Passporter's someone mentioned they were staying in the value resorts, were able to use RAC, and a CM told them that SWA is available on all the resorts.

If you check out the second page, another person clarifies that it is only at the values and is still in the pilot program.

Unfortunately, on that thread, people were still "thrilled" about the OP's post, but didn't read to the second page where it had been clarified. Sadly, it happens on the Disboards as welll; someone reports information that did not come from the source, but an incorrect posting.

My party last week was at POR and SSR (a mod and a deluxe); both resort check-outs specifically said there was no RAC service for SWA yet.

This thread unfortunately supports my argument about the amount of misinformation and incorrect information on this website in regards to travel.

There is no doubt that OP intended to be helpful by posting this, but apparently the source is questionable and there hasn't been supporting documentation to a valid website to confirm the information. Yet most likely some readers have already taken this as fact.

As Mom is busy playing at WDW, perhaps someone could nicely PM OP to come back and clarify the post. Hopefully this won't deteriorate into the same silly arguments that are on so many threads with the factual information being overshadowed by misinformation.

I can tell you that the thread on Passporter ended up with someone posting that they really hoped that the clarification was incorrect, because they really, really wanted it to be true.....despite the fact that people pointed out that is was false information.

It may happen over here too - the good part is that most of us err on the side of caution and consider the sources before "jumping to conclusions" about some misinformation. I think someone said it best about the Transportation board - this board, above all others, could really result in a miserable outcome for someone who followed incorrect information.

I think that I am just frustrated because yet again this site has become a place where factual information is being overshadowed by misinformation. The people who have the real facts (ie the airport employees, the airline employees, the TSA agents, etc etc) are not being heard, because often their responses are unpopular. Many of them gave up long ago, even though there were excellent resources.

Instead, many readers want validation, not information, and again are getting upset when the factual information is not what they wanted to hear.

I know several posters who this week have decided yet again to give up on this website because posting facts results in getting beaten up by those who don't want to hear it, or who prefer to listen to misinformation from well-intentioned but ill-informed posters. I don't know why people would prefer to be ignorant over informed, but somehow posting facts became a bad thing here.

Again, I believe that OP had the best of intentions, but I rarely post facts without linking to supporting documentation for exactly this reason. Some of the people who read the first few posts may not be back to read updates or corrections.

I have 'reported' this post and explained why they may want to edit / lock it. Unless of course they find out that it's true, which I dont think it is after reading the post on the other board.

I agree - As also happened on the PassPorter site; people were still disputing it because they just so wanted it to be true; even though people posted factual information that it was untrue!

Thank you dburg, I hadn't thought of reporting it/locking it out.....!

:rotfl:

I just didn't want to be a tattletale who reports posts! Since Mom left without telling us who she put in charge (it isn't TLinden16 since they are creating havoc together, and she didn't say Uncle Tyler is in charge) I didn't know who to PM without using the 'report a post' feature.

Come to think of it, does that mean that Mom trusts us enough to behave during her absence and that she didn't see a need to put anyone in charge of us?!

She probably just forgot :), you know, her tagline does say something about she knows she's getting old doesnt it??

Time for me to start ducking :)

And while I usually dont 'report' posts that arent either spam or getting downright nasty, with actual personal attacks, I did use it in this case as it could really cause issues if people see it, since it doesnt appear to be true..

SW will probably be rolled out to other resorts sometime in 2010. This is something that will probably "be true" at sometime in the future. Makes it easier to believe bad information when you "know" the information will be true in the future.

A SW employee has been posting on FT letting us know when SW is added to more resorts. There have been no recent update. I think a SW employee has also been updating us on DIS.

I agree with PP, this is probably an unsubstantiated rumor.

Well, she IS significantly older than most of her flock here.... although she certainly doesn't look it! :)

Definitely agree this was one time where reporting was warranted, as with spam or porn. But often people report posts because they don't like the answer they received, which leads me to write 'if you don't like the answer, don't ask the question'

So, does anyone want to actually tell us how old they are? :rotfl2:

Sorry, it is a Friday and I just played a game called Pirate Battle Ship with all of my classes....... 6 games per class times 5 classes. That is 30 games of Pirate Battle Ship.... give you all one guess as to which song I played during the game...........

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

I usually save those links before I report them :)

:lmao::rolleyes1:blush:

I do believe that Mom keeps all that information on a giant spreadsheet.

Sorry OP that we took your thread off topic, but at least we are being all icky warm and fuzzy and huggy here today for you.

I'm here, I'm here. Tell you all what....I'll check at the RAC counter tomorrow morning. What a great moderator I am to do these things for you all. To the best of my knowledge, SW is still in pilot phase at the values...haven't heard or seen anything down here to contradict that.

BTW.....Yes, I'm old...but I'm doing a fair to middling job of keeping up with the youngsers down here. And I'm checking in on you all daily...loving that free internet for DVC, but not at POP, so I couldn't check as often as I would like.
