Southwest is giving 50,000 points again

Help please:
I signed up and got the 50K miles with the credit card offer. Are they with SWA direct? If I cancel the card do I still get to keep the miles? Or do I need to use them up before I cancel?

I am moving international and would like to keep them for use once we return to visit family and go WDW.

I signed up using an email invitation for the 50,000 points, $99 annual fee with 6,000 anniversary points annually almost a month ago. My husband signed up about a week later (early March) using the link that was on this thread, it was the same offer. I can see my cc account online and have been charged the annual fee along with my purchase. My husbands statement came today and no bonus points and no charge for his annual fee. I just pulled the paperwork that came with the cards and his is saying 3,000 points annually.

So my question is it appears he got the lesser 25K point deal business card (blue card not black like mine) with 3000 points annually, although I KNOW when he signed up it was the offer for the 50K points 6000 anniversary points for $99.

If I call Chase do you think they will adjust the offer? I have no way to prove the link was for 50K and it no longer works. Anybody else run into this? Thanks in advance, you guys are an amazing wealth of knowledge!

Yes as of now the miles are to be used for SWA flights only.

I applied for the card using the link on this thread. I had a lot of questions after I was approved and called the RR phone number. The customer service rep was extremely helpful. During our conversation, he said I signed up for the 25K points. I, very nicely told him I thought I signed up for the 50K points. He told me he would pass along my question. 2 days later, I got a letter in the mail saying that they would honor the 50K! At the end of my cycle, the 50K along with my purchase points showed up. I bought 3 round-trip tickets from Chicago to Orlando with my points! It only cost me $15.00. My husband still can't believe it!
Thank you to the person that started this thread and to all who have contributed! I really, really appreciate it!

Thanks so much. Now i can go with dd in Nov. Yay!:thumbsup2

My husband signed up 50k points and $99 yearly fee. We used it right away, got a bill, paid the purchase plus the $99 fee. As of today no points

I signed up two weeks after him using a different link, got the 50K offer but $69 per year. My statement just closed, it includes a purchase and $60 yearly fee. I haven't received the statement yet, nor have I paid it. But guess what? I have the 50k points already credited to my account???????

So my husband called and the CS rep told him with his next cycle he will have 50K. (after 2 cycles) She couldn't explain why i got mine quicker.

Any one else have this situation?

I love this offer.

With this offer, my Disney Visa points, and the 30% off code for November, DH and I are taking our 2 boys (3 and 1, so technically 3 paid for everything) to WDW for 5 nights to POR in a Royal room for less than $1000 for airfare, hotel and tickets. Without the various discounts and points, it would have been well over $2500.

This makes DH VERY happy.

I'm having trouble qualifying for the Southwest card. They state that my mortgage payment is too high relative to my income. Our mortgage payment is 30% of our take home pay. The CS rep told me that they can only count my income or dh's income but not both due to a new law that passed in 2011. Anyone else having problems? Any suggestions?

I just got the 50,000 this morning, wow that will be three round trip tickets for me!

Thanks Dis-ers! I jumped on this a couple months ago and now we are going back to Disney this Aug with all three of our flights paid for with points!

:thumbsup2

Thank you Marlaine! I just had my husband call and they told him 6-8weeks after first purchase, timing wise I think his first purchase was just too close to the ending billing cycle so they didn't have enough time to add points, he didn't have his annual fee charged either. They did confirm he was getting 50,000 points! I am thrilled that we were able to take advantage of this offer and also am getting 3 round trip tickets for our trip! Great deal!

Ok have a SW credit card deal question. On my page it is offering 2 trip/50,000 mile offer..but you now have to make 1000 in purchases in 3 months... sooo question one. could you go to like grocery store and buy Disney or gift cards and charge on card? would that count as 1000 ? 2nd question. if made 1000 right away would the 50000 show up on first statement? need to use for late Oct trip? any help appreciated... :goodvibes

I JUST got this credit card this week. I had another deal though for 50K points and only had to make one purchase with no minimum. If your grocery store takes credit card payments for gift cards you absolutely can charge the $1,000 in Disney gift cards. If you have a BJs or Costco membership you can actually get the gift cards for slightly less than the face value. I just got a $50 gift card for $47.99. Not a huge savings but still more money in my pocket than Disney's!

They told me yesterday when I called to activate my card that it would take 6-8 weeks for the 50K to show up on my account.

Ok that is good info, thanks...so the gift card part is OK, I think he buys gift card at supermarket and gets gas miles or cents off so thats good and he has no problem with the 1000 part
Now the only problem is that 1000 in three month... you had to make one charge. I am worried about the 3 months part figuring they might not credit for 3 month.. where did you find the one purchase deal... I would prefer that, that is the one I had and I made purchase and the 50,000 was on 1st statement if I remember correctly.. Oh why does everything have to be complicated for me:eek:

I would call Southwest and ask how soon the 50K would get deposited. 3 months would be cutting it awfully close. Ideally you want to book those flights now. My husband and I got the other offer of just 1 purchase (4 months ago) and his card got points added 1 month after getting the card, mine took almost 3 billing cycles. So if you have to wait for 3 months, and then wait at least another billing cycle to get the points, that will be too late.

It may be that you won't be able to use the points for this coming trip, but the points don't expire (I've been lead to believe) as long as you follow a few rules. So you could use the points for another trip. Or, do what we are doing, use your points to buy gift cards for national chain restaurants (like Olive Garden) and use them for your trip. It is going to save us a TON on food costs.

Good luck

We don't fly.....haven't really had a trip where we needed to. I wish they offered Disney gift cards.....can't really use it on the hotel rooms at Disney because we always go with the free dining offer. I guess we'll have to figure out somewhere to fly off to LOL

They offer many other gift cards, maybe you could find something else you use, and then use the money you saved with that gift card, to stash away for Disney funds?

When you have the CC you do have the option to redeem your points for things other than flights, but unfortunately no Disney GC option. But 50,000 points = $500 in many different GC options like Amazon, restaurants, hotels, etc. You can also redeem for hotel nights, rental cars, Sea World tickets, etc. So there are definitely non-flight options if you're interested in the card.

FYI.. back when the deal was poste din winter both my wife and i got own cards. so, we had 100000. you can do individually even if married with same address and the whole 9.
