Southwest has added Internet One Way Fares

But, guess what? Most of them are unavailable

Does SW normally send emails when they are adding fares? I get the one on Tuesday, but nothing else.

I just received an email this morning and by the time I went to the site almost all the one-ways were booked on our return. (Nothing was full on the way down to MCO.) Luckily we didn't need to rebook lower fares since we're flying on a previous credit this time.
I thought when SWA emailed, it was to give advance notice of fares dropping. I guess not unless people are just checking every morning like I used to do!

I have to admit....I'm an obsessive airfare "checker" on the Southwest site....sometimes twice a day. I got this email early this morning, and when I went to the site, the discount fares were mostly "unavailable". I don't believe they were ever "available"!

They've been showing SW advertisements on TV for the last few weeks touting their $79 each way fares, but they've also been "unavailable" for several weeks, if not months.

I guess I'm just gonna have to keep checking!

Depending on when you are going it looks as though Southwest has blackout dates for much of March and April which is of course when we are flying .

Anyway, I hope some travelers out there get to use the cheaper fares. I will be looking daily and then just purchasing sometime in January for our March trip. Airfare really hasn't changed much for us West Coasters for months . Thank goodness I already purchased good fares for our summer travel.

as an obsessive Southwest checker. I checked at 5:30 AM (making kids lunches) and the flights showed as unavailable already.

I still have not gotten their email regarding the added dates.

you cannot fault southwest ...since they are saying...

there may be some fares which fit that "category"...

eg...we could fly from buf to bwi for 39$ base rate for most dates on the website...

they are not really saying that these fares will be availalbe on all "flight schedules"

Keep checking...I was told by a SW agent that they open up seats all the time for those cheaper fares. They don't like to have lots of those seats when they first open that fare up but will open more seats as the higher fares don't sell. I've already got a $122 credit towards another ticket!!!
