Right now the fares are $290 RT for mid-January. Anyone think they'll go down a little? Seems high compared to previous trips.

I haven't been checking prices to Orlando....but I was watching prices from LI to ft Myers for my daughter 1/11 -1/18 ....they had remained the same aprox 160-170 each way. She finally booked delta out of LGA for 95 each way .....first time she is not flying SW...I'll drop her off and pick her up at LGA instead of ISP.......
my hubby and I are also for the first time flying jet blue out of JFK to ft Myers in December ...SW was 275 each way ..jet blue 95 ....and islip and sw wonder why not as many people are flying out of ISP....

Southwest prices change all the time. You can check one day, and they will be way down. Then, up the next day. I refuse to fly out of LaGuardia or Kennedy. Mac Arthur is the only airport I will use. Love it. But, I am limited to Southwest. Which is fine with me. When I originally booked our flights, they were almost 400 round trip. Now I got them down to about $240 round trip, which I think is fair. I will keep checking, though! That is why I love Southwest---you can keep changing, with no penalty.

Looking into May '13 the lowest is $160 everyday. Last year I paid $480 for two adults round trip and this year it will cost $660. Their prices really seem to have gone up, but I don't wanna deal with LaGuardia or Kennedy. I have a $40 credit from a trip booked this past June for December of this year, but if I apply that credit it makes my May trip of next year's tickets expire a few days after my trip. So if something happened where I had to move things around I risk being out $600 just to save $40. That's why I don't like their no charge fare change deal, because if you apply a credit from an earlier flight it causes the new flight to expire on the older credit date. And if the prices after I purchase now would lower (I would seriously hope so 160 across the board is high) and I got the price difference in travel funds they would be useless to me because they would expire when I got back from my trip anyway because of the oldest funds expiration thing they got going on. So...should I book at 160 pp one way now or wait and hold out that they'll at least drop to 145 or lower?:surfweb:

I paid $94 each way about 3 weeks a go , they had a 30% off sale...sign up for bing...you still have time

That's a great price! My times were still in the $140 range with the 30% off.
I just remembered for our August 2010 trip we paid about $325 RT,
so I'm going with $290.

Not sure about January, but my December trip just dropped $100. Won't hurt to check, who knows when it'll go back up. Now I have more credit for my May trip:)

I just got 6 one way tickets for $96 well, actually 4k reward points. Previously ranged at @ $300.00! I signed up for bing and was waiting for a good deal, it finally came through! Now I'm gonna wait to see if I can get a cheap flight back, they are also roughly at $300.00 because my dates are for Christmas time.
