I got a sale email from SWA so I looked and each of my flights went down about 1000 points. I can change online and the points will automatically go back to me right? Thanks for any help. This is my first time using my SWA pints since I got the card with the 50,000 bonus. I am fine if they have to be used in a time frame. I plan on another trip with in a year.

I don't know anything about points but you might want to change your Thread title to add the "price" went down. It's a bit alarming! :scared1:

I have to say I agree. When I saw the title my first thought was there was a crash. :scared1:

giggle.

Our price went down last March and allowed us to snag a cheap weekend trip to Disney later.

Thanks OP - a flight that we booked to go from Milwaukee to New York has gone down $16 each times 3 of us. I know this isn't a ton, and it really only "counts" if we go somewhere in the next year.

I am disappointed though - we only booked 1-way on SW, and then we are returning on Delta. The SW flights were over $200, for the return segment when we booked in August. (Delta was $69.) So it was a no-brainer to return on Delta.

Now - SW flights are $79, which would have been a no-brainer, had they been that price back in August. But I digress. DH has ruled that we just can't take any checked baggage.

I can vouch that yes, this does work and you do get a point credit. I did the same thing with my Southwest flights from Chicago to Orlando for our trip in September. The prices went down about $50 each, but I was using my free points. I called the SW hotline, they cancelled the tickets, I re-booked through the website, and was credited the points right away. It all went really smooth and now I have enough points for another trip. :cool1:
