Agree. We are booking earlier in the month and flights in an out of BWI are expensive. I'm hoping they drop but not sure if they will. Our RT for one is almost $350. Keep checking and fingers crossed.
With the recent news about more issues with the 737's my DH wants to drive.
I have learned one thing. I'm not getting up early to book on opening day. Prices haven't changed at all this week.
There were very good fares when they were released on May 30th. The more they sell, the higher they get.
At that price I recommend choosing another airline to get a better deal.Ugh I have been stalking Southwest to get tickets for Jamaica around Thanksgiving. I was on there as soon as they loaded and it said WGA fares were “sold out”.. I’m just going to keep stalking and hope they show up but may have to pay stupid $585 one way prices.
I booked Philly to Orange Co, Calif for Nov of last year in May of 2018 and I only re-booked for a lower rate once. The prices were very good then IMO. This year is so different. (I want late Oct outbound, returning early Nov) I've been checking several times a week (making sure I always check Tue and Sun) since the beginning of May and prices are higher than they started at last year and not dropping.I was looking at a flight to Phoenix in early November. I was a little surprised with the high prices. Not crazy high, but about $40-55 more per way over what it was last year at the same exact time. Last year the flight prices never came down from where they started. They only went higher! I have had some success recently stalking the SW website. You have to check twice a day at minimum. I saved a boatload on round-trips to San Diego by checking the website. The tickets only dropped for about 6 hours then went back up to original price.
I'm flying PHL to MCO and back for EXACT same dates as you. I logged in on opening day (a few hours late) and non-stop flights were SOLD OUT for the 3 morning non-stops. I had to settle for an after 4pm non-stop (basically losing a whole day.) The VERY next day they were suddenly no longer sold out and I happened to check. Since I was within 24 hours it was an easy switch (only $60 more total for 5 people for the first nonstop) and I got to keep my EBCI because it was within 24 hours. Fingers crossed for you! I was super annoyed that they "sold out" so fast as well! The WGA fares were higher than I had hoped on 5/30, so I've been checking daily. They haven't changed much, but now the WGA fare for the flight I wanted is Sold Out. What are the realistic chances more seats will be released? We are flying 11/30-12/8, so there's plenty of time....I think I'm just being nervous, hah!

Good to know! Thanks for the tip!I think the Sun and Tue trick is not valid so much anymore. The significant (and short-lived) price drop I discovered was on a Saturday morning. By dinner time it was back up to original price.
Consider yourself lucky, they were high out of the gate for me who was sitting refreshing that amThere were very good fares when they were released on May 30th. The more they sell, the higher they get.

We are flying around Thanksgiving , so I know they would be higher. I didn't expect it to be crazy high. We are going to hold off for a while and hope they come down a bit. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh only has Southwest and Spirit direct to MCO (and Spirit is just as high). We wanted to fly out late on Thanksgiving Day, but the latest flight out is at 1:00pm that day. ????
