We are patiently :yay: waiting for SW to post their June 2007 fares. Our trip is scheduled for June 13 - 21. I am checking SW daily for updates even though I know it will be more like March before I see my dates. A girl can dream. Anyone else with me? Let's "watch the pot" together. :wave2:

I'm watching and waiting. We have reservations for June 2 - 9th. I wanna go now!!!

We are waiting to book our flights for May 31 returning June 9 but I think we have a while left to wait. Southwest doesn't usually release the May/early June dates until the beginning of December (at least that is what they have done for the last couple of years). Maybe they will surprise us and release the dates early :rolleyes1 !

June 3-8 for us, patiently waiting! Dings are no fun when you don't even have reservations... :p

I am also waiting for June. I can remember last year when we were thinking about going (and ended up not going), seeing a really decent rate for June on New Year's Day. However, I do not think the rate went for the end of June at that time.

We are waiting for June 23 - 30.

Alright, now we have a "home base". We can get together here and update each other when the fares and dings begin to break. Come on Southwest!

Waiting also for 6/22-6/29/07!!!

The waiting is tough, but let's all hope we are lucky enough to catch the good fares.

Waiting for June 23-July 3, 2007 (we may change our minds and drive though). If SW's fares come out and we book and then we get a DING..can we book that and get a refund for the difference?

If you book with a refundable fare, then you get the refund. If you book a non-refundable fare, then you can apply the difference to another flight within a year.

I am kinda on the fence about rebooking the ding fares after a ticket is purchased. Is sounds so confusing and time consuming. Can anyone explain an easy way to do it? We don't fly very often. Our other favorite vacation is the Oregon Coast and we drive there. Not sure we would even use the savings if we took advantage of the ding fare and had the credit applied to our account. Can you combine the total savings, or would each person (5 in our family) have to use their own credit on a future flight?

Anyway, just checking in today. I received a whole list of ding fares today but of course we don't even have regular fares yet. This waiting is a killer. Hope eveyone is having a great day! :)

You have to cancel your existing reservation first - you'll then have a credit under that reservation number - then you book the ding fare and apply the funds under the first reservation number to the ding purchase. The remaining balance is then available to you for the next year for anyone you buy a ticket for. It's really easy.

When you make another reservation, you do the same thing - apply the remaining funds from the original reservation number. As long as you make the reservation, you can apply the funds to any ticket you buy for anyone in any combination. Just remember, you have one year from the date of the original reservation to use all the funds, and some of the funds may be refundable depending on the original ticket purchase.

I'm waiting for May fares....Can I wait along with you all?? (I'm not being very patient, I have to admit! )

Can I suggest a better way to re-book and take advantage of a Ding? When you decide to re-book, go all the way through the reservation process until you get to the payment page. Then open a second window, go to SW site and cancel your existing reservation. Once you've done that, on the payment page there's a place where you indicate that you have a credit (sorry, I can't remember exactly what it looks like but very easy to do). When you do that, your credit amount for the cancellation will automatically pop up for you to use! This way, you don't run the risk of cancelling, then not able to get the Ding you want. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the instructions. I think I will check out the process doing a "dry run" so to speak so i'm familiar with the process. Very good to know that I could have a credit account to use as I wish later.

It makes sense but doesn't work any better - you don't get the ding fare until you actually pay for it - you can be in the middle of doing the reservation, and the plane can sell out before you pay for your reservation, then the reservation is no longer there. The process is not complete until you pay, so you have to cancel the first reservation before completing the new ding reservation no matter which method you use, and you can still be shut out of the flight you want - it's a very remote possibility though.

Woohoo we are next, yes! Hey MarcyinPA, did you get your dates with the latest schedule release or are you still waiting with us? Hope everyone is still hanging in here with me! Happy planning, JL
