Southwest dropped evening MCO to PHL flight in Sept and Oct

Maybe November will be spared, our flight home is at 7:05 pm, it is not the latest flight though, there is a later flight at 9:30 . All the years I have flown SW they have never cancelled flights after the schedule was posted. But that really has changed this year.

I know my November flights are already "sold out" for the Wanna Get Away fares. Hoping that means they won't get discontinued.

I have the Monday 3:45 pm flight OCT 19 booked. I just checked and it's not showing as a flight on the schedule but my flight is still listed in my travel section on the right. How did you know your flight was cancelled? Where do you check?

I would suggest you call. Mine was still listed on the travel section as well. It wasn't until I tried to do the "change/cancel" thing that I got an error message.

The SW employee said i could switch to any other flight into MCO within 2 weeks (or something like that?) And even though I already made a switch, I could switch it again, one more time with no penalty.

Oddly, it can be an opportunity to get a better flight time than before, and/or one that was more expensive.

I was told the same as well. Had to be same cities, but a large window of dates and I have the "one more time option" as well.

ACK my flight going DOWN is gone, too, PHL to MCO, at 3:45 pm. (Oct 20) I only booked that weird time because it was $73. Crap. My flight home is still there, at 10:55 am, MCO to PHL. They have not contacted me. Will cost me double now for a flight down. : (

JUST called, they switch you with no increase in price or points. For me, the new flight time is better! So glad I saw this so I could switch ASAP, before new flight was booked up.

THANK YOU OP for letting us know about the dropped flights for PHL/MCO !!

You're welcome. Glad it worked out for you!

For my 10/20 flight, it was listed in my account, on the right but when I clicked on it, to see the details, it said some error message, and to contact SWA. (in my case, the flight was on points, if this matters). And it took a supervisor to correct it. He explained that when they contact people to change flights, it will go faster, as those employees will be set up on a program to make it easier. For me, he had to override things to make sure the points stayed the same, and to document what he did. I had no idea what he was really talking about, lol.

I still haven't called them to check on my Aruba return flight. However, I did receive an email confirmation of a flight change(that no one checked with me on) for the Orlando trip I had booked for the week before. The flight they assigned me has a stopover, so my 2hr 25min flight is now 6 hrs. I guess I have to give in and call them so I can get the afternoon flight that's direct (it's still available so I don't know why they didn't put me on that).

My Aruba flight (that stops in MCO and is supposed to pick up this 8p flight that has been cancelled) doesn't show up in my travel, nor does the confirmation number pull anything up, but I was not refunded the points or the money. I wasn't sure which of these trips we were going to take, but as of right now, I don't really want to do either! (well I guess Aruba's not an option since I have no way home unless I pay for a return flight on another airline, I was using points and a companion pass)

Our flight on 10/20 is no longer listed on the schedule but is still showing in my travel folder. I called and was told that the flight was not cancelled but they are "working" on the schedule and will email me when they make a decision. Terrific! I'll just sit here and stress.

You might want to be proactive and look for another flight now.

I would suggest you call. Mine was still listed on the travel section as well. It wasn't until I tried to do the "change/cancel" thing that I got an error message.

thanks ashleyrm, I called SW yesterday and never got my callback I left. After 4and 1/2 hours I called back and got through. I had them check my flight for 10/19 Monday at 3:45 and YES it was cancelled. After some issues I got my flight switched to the day before with no raise in pts. I pick up an extra day at Disney. they let me pick 11:30 am sunday and I switch. After I hung up I forgot that I booked mine and DW separate on pts and didn't change hers. Back to the phone and got another agent who say I couldn't change yet because they didn't have all the info on the cancelled flight yet. I told her I just changed mine 10 minutes ago. She asked how I knew they flights were cancelled. I told her THE INTERNET ha. Anyway both times the agent had trouble putting me on hold, the system wouldn't let them. Anyway a supervisor got involved and switched my DW to my flight on Sunday.
