Hi ~ I have a SW credit that needs to be used before November 09. If I book a July 09 trip now, but have to cancel, does that renew my credit?

This is what I'm trying to do:

I have a $456 credit

I'd like to book a trip that costs $1116 [for July 09]

I'd pay the extra $666 [$666 + $456 = $1116]

If I have to cancel, would that mean I now have a $1116 credit that must be used by March 2010? Or would I still have $456 credit that needs to be used before Nov 09 and a $666 credit that needs to be used by March 2010?

Thanks! Sandra

I think the credit date stays the same. I know I paid with 2credits and one date changed and one didnt. I think to be safe you should think it will stay the same.

Actually, once you redeem the credit, all funds now revert to the original date.

Meaning, the entire amount ($1116) would expire in Nov. '09.

Copied and pasted from SW's website:

If you apply Ticketless Travel Funds toward the purchase of a new reservation, your new reservation record will reflect the expiration date of the oldest Ticketless Travel Funds used to pay for this reservation. Therefore, the expiration date of your new reservation and all Ticketless Travel Funds associated with your new reservation may be less than 12 months. The Ticketless Travel Funds expiration date will be printed on your new Ticketless Travel Itinerary and Receipt.

Sorry to bump up an old thread...

Could you purchase a refundable ticket using a credit and get a full refund on that ticket if you need to cancel?
