Southwest Credit Offer

I received one of those offers where you get 50,000 points for spending $2000 dollars in the first three months. Does anyone know if my husband and I each can sign up for a card? We'd pay our typical bills and such on the card, pay it off right away since they are monthly expenses, earn the points and then use them to purchase flights? We are a family of 4, so we could each book 2 flights. Does Southwest allow you to pay the difference if you don't quite have enough points? I've never flown with them, but looking at prices and the offer that I got in the mail, 50,000 isn't necessarily enough- depending on the cost of the flight. My apologies if this is a re-post...I didn't see the answer to this question already posted.

Yes - each spouse is separate when it comes to CC applications. 50,000 Points can get you quite far.

Google credit card churning. You certainly don't have to go intensively into it, but it can be lucrative..

SW has 4 versions of their CC - 2 personal and 2 business. What you can do is sign up for 2 CCs (can be one at a time to spread out those minimum spends you have to meet).

CC#1 for you: 50k points
CC#2 for you: 50k points
Total for you: 100k points + 4k+ points from meeting min spends

You are then only a very short distance away from getting a Companion Pass. (if you earn 110k points within a calendar yr). From the time you earn it until the end of the following year (up to 2 years max), you will hold a Companion Pass where one designated person travels with you for free - even with a award flight paid with points.

I love my CP - makes SW travel super affordable.
