Is 99.00 one way a "deal" on Southwest out of Cleveland into MCO? I've been waiting to book and this seems like it is the lowest so far. Should I wait for a better deal? Our dates are 09/16-09/25. Thanks.

that's a good question... I'm in the same place.... I can fly from BUF, CLE, or PIT, although PIT is the furthest from me.... and the best I see is $99 OW... then I see Baltimore offering $49 and think hmm... is the 6-7 hour drive worth it?

I think for now I am going to wait it out for low BUF fares (the closest).

Later,
Paul

I'm about ready to jump on this one for 9/27-10/2...I think it's a pretty good deal.

We went to Disney two years ago in October and the best we got at the time was $240 roundtrip...southwest comes in at $228 round trip including all taxes. I think it's pretty rare to get $200 or under out of Cleveland, but that's in my fairly limited experience of checking fall fares.

My husband is flying on Continental with a free ticket with FF miles. So, I guess this means I'll be flying solo with the boys ages 4 and 6!

If there are times you can live with for the flight, I think that's a pretty good deal. I watch CLE for my sister and about the lowest I've seen is $175 RT, Of course with taxes and fees, that will probably be closer to $225. YOu may want to double check travelocity or orbitz, though. Sometimes they match the SWA fares, and on another airline, you may be able to get non stop which will $$,too

Is that the Internet rate? I just purchased airfare on Southwest today for $99 from St. Louis. It was $155 one way yesterday. They just posted the Internet rates today, so check back if you haven't today. If it is today's rate, it's probably a good deal (unless if was the same earlier this week). The site said there was a big sale. I just saved almost $500!!!!

FWIW, it appears Continental dropped their fares in response to Southwest's -at least out of Cleveland.

The flight I wanted on Continental was $306 roundtrip yesterday, and only $236 today! (including all taxes). Southwest with tax would run $228....so for a few bucks more I got a direct flight and will be able to use the ME luggage tags for delivery of bags to the resort. YEAH!!!!! :cool1:

If you don't mind an extra drive, SW often has fares out of Columbus for $79 one way. It might be something worth checking out. FWIW though, I'd buy $99 one way out of CLE.

We fly out of Pittsburgh and usually get great fares at about 8-10 weeks before departure date. Rarely do we pay over $150. In fact, in December with 6 weeks before departure we paid $115 round trip including taxes and fees.

I've been watching fares to Vegas from Pit and Cle (friend lives closer to Cleveland) and everytime I look, fares are significantly cheaper out of Pittburgh. If we were to book last time I looked the other day, we'd save over $400 total for all of us by flying out of Pittsburgh instead. I've never considered Cleveland til recently, but the little I've been looking and noticing fares (especially now the Ding fares) Pittsburgh seems to come up cheaper just about every time, so it may be worth keeping an eye on fares.

But yeah, that 8-10 week range is where fares start to bottom out (after 6 weeks they rise fast) Most sales hit in the overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday. So keep that in mind when searching for fares.
