Southwest check-in question

I know you guys will know the answer to this... I have never payed much attention and we usually fly southwest.
Since Early Bird checkin came out... I have always done it... we are traveling with another family this time... and they didn't want to spend the money... so they checked in and got B 22, 23, 24...
We are in the A's so they are upset... I WARNED THEM... Anyway... she wants to know how many numbers are in each A B and C... Is it A 1-50? B 1-50? C 1-50? or is it a lower or higher number in each section. I hope this makes sense! Sorry If I confused anyone!!
She just wants to know how far away they will be from us boarding... Obviously prob not sitting near each other! LOL

There are 60 positions in each letter group. The first 15 in the A group are reserved for those who pay for business class. There are seldom very many people in this group on flights to Orlando, & on occasion, A16 is the first person to board.

Actually, they board medicals first. You need a special Boarding pass sleeve to board in this group and must get one from the gate agent. You can't sit in an exit row if you board as a medical.

Then the A group boards in numerical order. After that, families with small children. I think the child has to be age 4 or under. Sometimes there are so many families with children that they skip this boarding step and everyone boards by bp number. Usually they only allow immediate family to board in this group - no grandparents, aunts, friends, uncles, etc.

then the B group, in order followed by the C group.

Usually, those with B passes have no trouble finding seats together, but they will be more towards the back.

thank you! She is so upset with her husband! I feel bad for her... But maybe they can board in between a and b as they also have a 11 month old...aswell as their 9 year old.

They will be able to board before the B group, since they have a young child. There will be plenty of seats left for them to board together, tell her not to sweat it

They will be fine. They can board after A and will sit together.
