I am asking a friend to check in my family at T-24 for our return flight from LAS to MCO. Our flight is departing at 4pm Pacific Time. My friend is in Florida. Does this mean she needs to check us in at 7pm Eastern Time? Thanks in advance!

yes, 3 hours between pacific and eastern.. so 4pm pacific is 7pm eastern...

Look at your conformation page from SW. What ever it says the arrival time is, is the time for that time zone.

But the arrival time (and time zone) has nothing to do with checking in. The 24 hours is calculated from the actual time of departure, so if the plane is leaving at 4:00 Pacific, checkin would start at 4:00 Pacific, which, of course, would be 7:00 Eastern.

I just asked the same question in another thread. :)

So, I'm understanding that yes, my family can check me in at 9am central time when my flight is at 11am Florida time?!

This early bird check in stuff has me worried. I don't want to be one of those poor families asking someone to move so I can sit next to my child because we are the last to board the plane.

No, Central time is - 1 hour from Eastern time so if your flight is at 11:00 Eastern then you can check in at 10:00 Central.

Yea, using eastern as 9am for example, that would be 8am central, 7am mountain and 6am pacific...

central = eastern -1,
mountain = eastern -2 and
pacific = eastern -3...

Thanks everyone, for clearing up the confusion. I had a feeling that time zone wasn't a factor. Just wanted confirmation. I appreciate it!
