Southwest BWI to MCO - now I'm confused

OK, so I checked the price for 12/3 & return 12/11/10. For 1 adult it's $118 down & $104 back. Then I put in 4 adults & suddenly it's $131 each way (total $1133.60). Wow, it went up that fast? So just out of curiosity I checked for 1 adult again & it's $118 & $104 So if I buy all 4 tickets at once it will cost me $160 more that if I buy them separately. Does this make sense? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm very confused.

I believe that is because there are not 4 discounted seats available, there must only be between 1-3 of those seats available. If there are not discounted seats for the # of people you enter in, I think it just bumps you up to the next price. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that that is how the software works.

If you booked 1 at the lower price (or possibly up to 3) individually, the 4th person will be quoted the higher rate.

Of course, this is probably all changing by the second, but theoretically that's what would happen.

I must be learning something from hanging out here. Especially since I've only flown SW once I think, maybe twice. And have only flown on personal business about 2-3 times in the last 10 years (DH doesn't like to fly - has to be forced).
