Southwest Airlines EBCI Credit Headache

Had a Southwest flight re-accommodated with an EBCI. Southwest notified me on 2/26 that I had to repurchase the EBCI for the new flight (which I promptly did and paid for), my credit card would be credited. On 3/4 had a trip cancelled due to weather, airfare was credited within 3 days but not the EBCI. There still is not a credit for any of the flights. I called SW was on hold for 15 minutes, got a wonderful agent who put me on hold for 14 minutes while she took care of the credit....so I thought. The last thing she told me was that I will receive your credit in 2-3 WEEKS! I am a patient person but I think that waiting 2-3 weeks on top of the 11 days I have been waiting for the first reservation and 5 days for the second is excessive. The credit amounts to $125.00. I politely told Patrice that I thought that was excessive and would contact my Credit Card Company if I wasn't credited within 48 hours.
 
????? Good for you????????? I guess I don't know what you think that will prove. Will you tell your credit card company that they intend to refund you, but you are too impatient to wait for it?

I want to add I would be annoyed too. But not to the extent that I would make a big deal of it. So you wait 2 weeks. Not ideal, but they ARE giving you your money back. And I hope you don't plan on claiming to your credit card company they are committing fraud, when that is clearly not the case. They are refunding your money, you just don't want to have to wait for it.

One thing to consider is that there is a limited time that you have to ask for a charge back. Some companies (and I'm not saying Southwest is one of them) will give you the run around and delay giving you your money back in an attempt to make that time run out so that when you do complain to the credit card company you will be past the cut off date for any refunds.

I suggest at least checking with the credit card company to see how long you have to dispute a charge.

I would never tell my Credit Card company that SW committed fraud. I was disappointed that I had to call to initiate the credit after receiving an email 11 days ago that stated I would be credited and have not yet received it.

But if you were informed 11 days ago that you'll be getting credited, and you now know the credits may take two to three weeks to appear on your account, I guess I don't see what the issue is :confused3?
