I am flying SWA with my DD24 and her just turned 1 year old son. I know about how SWA does check in, with the A, B, boarding and all that. I have not flown with a baby since my oldest was 2 (he is 27 now). Do they still let people with infants board 1st? Or should I get signed in at the 24 hour mark and hope for an A boarding pass? I don't want to break any rules, but if I don't need toworyy over it, then I won't. And, I figure if I don't have to get the A pass, that means someone else can get it!
Also, my DS will be on United with a toddler and an infant... will he anf his wife get to board 1st?

People with kids less than 3 years board between the A and B groups. Or they can pay the $10 per person per direction and get early bird boarding where the system signs you in automatically to give you (mostly) an A boarding number.

I believe they usually board after the first class and high-end frequent flier groups (e.g., Premier Executive and Star Alliance Gold boarding, I think).

I think I will try to get the A pass. Not sure if I want to pay for it......

Partially right....people with kids age 4 and under get to use the family boarding between the A and B group if they want to. You should still check in at the 24hr mark as it could get you an A which you can then board in the A group. On occasion they don't offer family boarding. If there are too many people that want to use it they can refuse to do it. Also, most of the time they only allow one parent to board with the kids.

If you are able to check in right at T24 then I would not suggest you spend the extra money on EBCI. I only use it if I can not check myself in.

As you are not the parent, they will not let you board with your daughter and the baby.

This depends on how many families are boarding and is at the discretion of the gate agent. If there are not a lot of families, they may very well let you board with your DD and the baby. On the other hand, if there are a large number of families they sometimes will not do family boarding at all.

Best advice is to try to get those A boarding passes and then--if you are successful--you won't have to worry about it.

No. Officially, on United, families usually board with whatever boarding group they are assigned. Every once in a while, I have seen United offer family boarding in boarding group 2. I have seen many families board on United in the last boarding group.

I checked in at exactly T-24 tonight and got B1. Had A51 on the way down.
