Southwest 72 Hour Sale

I got the same e-mail from Soutwest this morning, but unfortunately, they have no direct flights from Atlanta, so I checked out AirTran instead. They have flights for $49 both ways, but since I've never flown on my own before I'm scared that those prices are too good to be true. I don't want to fly with the luggage. Is this right?!

I booked a couple of weeks ago at $140 each way. My flight down is still holding at $140, but the return flight went down to $99 so I rebooked and now have an $82 credit. I'll use it when booking my air for my January cruise.

Wow.. what I wouldn't give for those prices!!
We've flown Airtran and they were absolutely no better or worse than any other flight we've taken.
But if you want them book them NOW before they are gone.
One thing I will say is that Airtran changes their schedule a little more often and you may get an email. It's not a big deal really unless you have ironclad plans. I just called in, said the new time didn't work for me and if it's much more than and hour from the original time you booked they will put you on a better flight for free.
Now go book your airfare!!

As I was mentioning earlier, I didn't get it today but I got a $298 credit last week from one leg of our flight. I just happened to get up at 5am and checked it and it was 120. There are five of us so it gave us a good credit, and then it was gone 3 hours later!
It's nice to have that 300 for our February trip!

That means the flights are almost booked full thus they don't need to discount ! My Dec. 16th last flight of the day sold out in 8 hours !

Grr I'm so mad..I got the email this am. I have been checkin for months and never found a rate lower than 243 each way from LAS to. MCO. Delta had a sale and I was able to book 240 RT with one stop. Checked southwest this morning and its now 277 RT non stop free baggage..ughh I'm so mad..my tickets r not refundable and I'm sure it cost a pretty penny to cxl the flights from delta.

I just tried to book a flight to Orlando for November and even though it said from my airport to orlando was $99, all I got were flights starting at $154 with no $99 in sight. What gives???

Almost all of our flights are the same way. I looked at the "month view" and very few $99 fares were present for October.

First time potential flyer here. I booked SW out of Birmingham for late Sept for $159 round trip per person. I think I did okay. I have no idea what I am doing but I guess I will learn.

Now I need to know how do I make the arrangements with Disney to utilize ME. Is that possible since I didn't book through them?

You don't have to have booked through Disney to use DME. Just call DME with your flight info, and you're all set. One of the professionals here probably has the number.

Question for those who got credits from Southwest-do you call and ask for the credit or can you do this on-line somewhere? I'm anticipating my going to Orlando flight going on a better sale. TIA

Oh and I only booked 1 R/T with this 72-hour sale and I need 2 R/T's if I do end up with a credit does that person have to use it or can I apply the credit to my son's airfare?

Wow! Did I just get a good surprise! When I changed my flight it gave me a request refund option which I of course checked. I did not think it was possible but I was just going to see what happened. I got the $497 refunded back to my card! Maybe it was because I had bought the previous tickets less than 24 hours before the sale came out. I don't know but that was a welcome surprise! And I only purchase wanna get away fares. So exciting!

Yeah within 24 hours of purchase u can get a full refund.

just booked our first vegas trip aug 13-16 from san antonio 99 each way! total was 395.20 for 2 people! staying at the luxor for $50 a night king room, hope i got a good deal!

Thanks for the info about the flight changes...that makes me worry a little, but I'll just have to wait and see what happens. How much do the times usually change? We're scheduled to fly out of Atlanta around 8 a.m., so if we get bumped, or moved to a flight that's a couple hours later, then that's okay. Just worried about the actual days changing.
