Southern California City Pass

My boys and I are taking a trip, in mid-July, to Disneyland. The boys want to go to Universal for a day. I was thinking of getting the SC City Pass, which has a 3-day park hopper, Universal, Sea World and San Diego Zoo all included. Then I noticed that Universal has a front of the line pass, which seems like a good idea since I only want to spend one day there. Does anyone know if you can add the front of the line feature to the City Pass?

I had the same question and called them. They told me it couldn't be done.

Few months ago I sent a message to Universal studio about the "front of line pass". Here their answer :

While the Southern California City Pass doesn't include a Front of Line
Pass, you can upgrade to a Front of Line Pass for the day upon your
arrival. (We apologize but all upgrades must be performed in person at
this time.) the cost to upgrade is determined by the difference in
value between your ticket and the full price of the Front of Line Pass,
currently $119. At this price, you can expect to pay $45 to upgrade
each ticket to a Front of Line Pass for the day.
