I understand that this is a "charter" airline. But the price for our tickets is incredibly low. So the question is, is this one of those too good to be true deals that I should run away screaming from or a legit, safe operation?

I can get 5 round trip tickets for from Gary, IN to Sanford, FL for $806 during sping break. The Gary airport I checked out and it is okay, easy to get to with free, secured parking. What about Saniford? We will have to fly in two days before cruise and out the day after quite early so will need hotel in area.

Is this airline safe and equally important, reliable? Reliable is important since "charter" tickets are not honored by other airlines and there is only this one set of flights that can accommodate our cruise schedule.

Also, is there any place decent to stay close to the airport with a shuttle or is renting a car our best option. I would prefer to use town car since I hate driving in a strange town

Southwest isnt a "fly by night" airline by anymeans

They offer discount fares because they have limited overhead. They do not prebook seats- they dont allow email communication with them, and they have limited airports they serve.

theres NO reason NOT to fly them, as long as your happy not being able to get a seat number prior to boarding. do a search here for swa you'll find lots of info

The poster was referring to SouthEASTERN airlines and I too am using them for the first time in December. We got oneway fares for $69 from PA to Sanford and hope that all goes well. I understand that the Sanford airport is small compared to MCO and easy to get around...about 50 min from WDW.

well maybe next time I should ACTUALLY READ what they type instead of stopping at SOUTH huh?

LOL sorry!

My cousin's family flew with them and had no problems. They liked the Sanford airport, rented a car and said it was very easy to get to WDW from there.

We have flown on South East Air many times since they came into ABE airport (Allentown). Where else can you get a direct flight and a great rate!

We actually like Sanford Airport. Its is small and so easy to navigate. We are flying SE again in December for our Christmas trip at WDW.

The plane is clean, the flight attendants kind, and in 2 hours some minutes I am on the ground in FLA......cant beat that.

They are by no means a fly by night outfit. They have recently expanded service a bit.

They get my flight every time. Thumbs up for SE air!

Thanks for the information. I think SouthEast is now on my short list of how to get us to FL.
