Hi All
Everything is going OK here. I was down this week even though I'm up a little bit today. Looking back over the past 4 or 5 weeks I see I'm average about 1/2 to 3/4 a lb a week with some up's and down's getting there.
Lori - I think I had several motivators that got me started. The first was seeing my brother be sucessful on this plan. He started about a month and a half before I did and has done very well. We have both lost over 100 lbs total a piece. Second, the fact I was getting too big to ride most roller coasters. Over about a three or four year period I had gotten to the point where the restraints wouldn't close on the marjority of modern roller coasters. When my favorite roller coaster almost made it to the list I knew there needed to be a change. As far as continuing motivation at least initially, the rapid weight loss was a big motivator. It's slowed down a lot since then so I've needed to find other motivators. Another motivator I've found for me is looking at all of the positive changes eating healthy and losing has done for me. When I first started, I could barely climb a set of stairs without getting winded. Today, I can jog up the flight, walk 5 miles, try to play basketball (still can't shoot), play paintball and a whole host of other activities. My blood pressure is also down to normal from being borderline high. Now that being said, I still have troubles from time to time staying motivated. This slow down in weight loss has definately effected my motivation. For most of my time dieting I've been losing between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 lbs a week. Fairly consistantly. I'm not giving up though. As the old saying goes, it took at long time to put on the weight, It's going to take a long time to take it off again. But I will take it off and you will to.
