South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Welcome Lisa. I'm new myself. In day 5 of Phase 1 and Day 2 was just terrible for me, but thanks to the :cheer2: here, I was able to get through it. Will officially weigh myself come Monday morning for this week's loss. I'm looking forward to the day when someone says "Have you lost weight?" :cool1:

That you all for your support!

Wouldn't you know it, my second day and I already get hit with a problem. Just got a call from my husband, his parents are taking us out to the really good restuarant for dinner tonight.. I'm only on day two of phase I and don't want to blow it. So far I am planning to get filet mignion with veggies and a salad to start. It will probably be a little more fat than I should intake, but I figure it's the best option. I don't know what to do for an appetizer. I could just skip it but I know everyone else will be getting one...

It's always something isn't it :sad2:

Wish me luck guys! :)

Welcome Lisa, hang in there. It's easy to eat out if you know the right things to get! Come back, we are all here for you.

Txbelle, congrats!!! I am so happy for you!!! It is so awesome when you are able to do something that you normally would not be able to do. WTG girl.

Hello! It sounds like everyone is doing great!!! I'm still hanging in there. I haven't lost, but I haven't gained either. I think my body is rejecting my losing weight. I'll keep at it though. ;)

I was just reading catching up on the thread. Welcome to everyone that's new to the Beach! I'm sorry I haven't been around in a while. Frustrations with the scale and other things are to blame. I'm back in the right frame of mine now after a wonderful visit with my doctor on Tuesday. I was trying to decide about my goal weight and talking to her about the charts and how low they say my weight should be for my height. My doctor gave me some of the most heartening news when she said I could stay this weight if I wanted to based on where I have come from and if I could maintain this loss she would be so happy for me.

That was such a weight off my shoulders. I can't tell you guys. I wanted to take off about 20 pounds from my current weight and she said that that would be even better but if I wanted to just focus on maintaining where I am, she would be fine with that. I'm currently in a size 10 and want to get down 1 more pants size and I'm done. So I will go for the 20 just to give myself some wiggle room for fluxuations that will occur.

I wonder if it was feeling so much relief over what my goal is that caused me to relax a bit but the scale has gone down 3 pounds since my doctor's visit on Tuesday! My scale hasn't moved in almost 3 weeks so I'm thrilled with it. I won't count it or claim my 105 pound weight loss clippie until Sunday when I do my official weigh in but I'm cautiously optimistic it will stick.

I wanted to say to the new Beachgoers that this program works! It really truly does. You just have to be committed. You have to be focused. You can do this! I am living proof that it can be done! I started off wearing a size 26 and wear a size 10 today. I even have a pair of size 8 stretch capris I just bought this past weekend and I'm tempted to wear them inside out so everyone can see the tag!!!

Anyway, it's so encouraging to read about everyone's successes and progress and I'll try to post more often.

Hello stranger!!! I told my husband the other day, Lisa's not posting, she must be frustrated!!! Do what you feel is comfortable and not what some stupid chart says. If I did that, I'd be somewhere between 105 an 115!!!! I'm pretty happy right where I am right now. Keep up the good work!

I'm in Day 4 of Phase 1. When I woke up this morning I felt very weak, dizzy and had a little bit of an upset stomach. I ate breakfast and lunch and now feel a little better. Is this typical of the SBD or do you think I have another bug?
I am having success on SBD I have lost 3lbs already!

No, very typical. It's a result of less carbs. It will go away, hang in there!!!! 3 lbs is terrific!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having, in day 6, shall we say "severe gastro-intestional distress" for the last 2 days. Is this normal? (Don't know how much longer I can handle it.) I'm loving what the scale is saying, so I'm hoping this will end.

by that you mean constipated?? If so, I stayed that way. It's very normal. Changes in eating habits. Get in some extra fiber. Buy some ground flaxseed, take a supplement. It will change once you add some good whole cabs in.

wow, I can't help you with that one. That is a wonderful problem to have!!! Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary? I usually hear of the constipation and not the other. Check what you've been eaten and I pray that it's not a stomach bug. If all else fails, take some imodium. I don't think it has any hidden sugars in it.

Hi everyone!!

I started Phase 2 this week. I added in some whole grains, and I think I did pretty well most of the week. Today I went to a birthday party and I did pass up the cake, but they were serving sandwiches for lunch. I know I ate too much bread, but hopefully I won't gain. It was wheat bread, but I doubt that it was very healthy wheat. Once I weigh on Monday I will decide if I need to cut out some of the carbs.

Congrats to all those who have lost!! :cheer2:

HI all -

I'm new to the SBD -- on Day 5 of Phase I. I have lost 3.5 lbs. so far.

I have even gone out to dinner twice while on this diet and managed to order what I should and skip the potatoes (asked for extra veggie serving instead).

I'm not finding it terribly difficult, but then again -- only on Day 5 - LOL!

I do love the results I'm seeing.

I would love to go down to 150 -- more would be better, of course - but I think I'd be thrilled at 150. I started at 180, am now 176.5.

Kris

Hi Kris - sounds like you're doing great so far ! :)

Well I weighed in this morning at the end of my first week/beginning of second week and was shocked at the results showing on the scale. So much so, I weighed myself a number of times - even putting sneakers on - and the result was the same -- 10 lbs. down. Love the diet and how easy it is, but I had to add in whole wheat toast yesterday because of the gasro-intestional problems I experienced for Thursday through Sunday (not the predicted constipation).

Here's to another successful week, even though I added in some carbs already.

:cheer2:
