South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Well, im floating on cloud 9 right now :) I"m on Day 4 of Phase I and I've lost 5 lbs, 2 inches off my waist and 1 1/2 inches off my hips. The hardest day for me was Day 2, i felt exhausted, weakened, constant headaches and crazy cravings. I still have the occassional twinge of "need" for a carb, but I'll drink a bottle of water and get busy studying for finals to ease the craving. This diet is very very do-able with wonderful results. Im shooting to lose 14lbs by May 12th (our trip to WDW :)) Im sure that I can do this, my determination to lose weight has never been so high. Today I was able to fit easily and comfortably into 2 pairs of shorts that I could barely button up a week ago. I was also able to fit (albeit uncomfortably) into a pair of jeans that are my inspiration. I want to wear those suckers on the plane to Orlando :) I was a total South Beach Doubter when I decided to start, now Im a faithful believer and Beacher :)

Just wanted to drop in and say congrats to everyone doing so well. And today is a complete week of SB and I've lost 8 lbs. this week. I couldn't believe it. I could tell my clothes felt really well but didn't want to weigh until a full 7 days were up. Good luck everyone. :wave2:

I'm just going to give out a big :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: to all of you losers!!!!!!!

I'm so happy and proud of all of you!!!!!!!!! :cloud9: :grouphug:

Here's another upbeat post --

I lost my first 5 lbs! As you can see by my proudly displayed Dis Wish badge below :-)

Today is Day 9 of Phase I and I'm going strong. Yesterday, I was getting discouraged and bored with the food, but reaching my first 5 lb goal (yes, I'm breaking it up into little pieces!) was a real boost for me.

I'm rewarding myself for each 5 lb. loss and my first reward is going to be a massage -- never had one, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Let's keep the upbeat posts coming!

I'm on Day 5 and today was my "official weigh in" (but ive been weighing myself nearly every day because each morning as I walk past the mirror i go "I look thinner...ok i'll just hop on and see if i am" hehe)

Anyways, it was also my official measurement day :)

I've gone from 192lbs to 185.5lbs - a 6.5lbs loss and I'm hoping to lose 6.5 more on Phase 1

My waist has gone from 37in. to 34in.
My hips have gone from 44.5in to 43in.
And my proudest accomplishment :) My under bust has gone from 38 back to 36!! I haven't been a 36 in 2 years!!

Congrats to everyone on their progress so far!

Way to go, Kris ! Keep it up !!

Multiple short term goals w/ rewards sounds good to me :)

Congrats Tinkerbelle_325 !

Lisa (Mymatisse)

I'm new to SBD but looking at what you ate looked fine to me. Except maybe for the pinto beans. I don't remember them being allowed in phase 1.

I just want to offer some encouragement and hugs  I know how frustrating it is to feel like you're doing well and then not have the scale reflect that. In my second week of phase 1, I only lost 8 oz. A big disappointment. Just keep at it and take note of your measurments. That is a more accurate reflection of your weight loss than the scale anyway. :goodvibes

A BIG congratulations to you BIG LOSERS!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm so proud of all of you!!!

It does make me miss the "early days" of SB.

You all are really doing great!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work. Seeing each other lose weight and inches motivates us all!!!!!

I'm officially into my second week..

The amount of weight I have lost is negligable (maybe a lb) but WOW, I can't believe i've done this for a week already. I just have to give myself some :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Onto Week 2 :)

Lisa, congrats. I would like to suggest a tighter look at what you are eating. It might contain hidden carbs and suga. Just a hint if you are looking for a bigger loss.

Well allright you guys! Everyone is hanging in there. Sorry not to be around for a while. So busy. I got my Mom to start Phase 1 on Monday, so far she is doing great. I did lose 5 lbs prior to my anniversary yesterday. :cool1: We celebrated with an awesome steak dinner. We did have champagne, and a few little wafer crackers but otherwise no cheating. I feel really good. I know I can get off the next 5 and then 5 after that. I hope my Mom is encouraged by a big loss at the weeks end.

Melissa, how wonderful for you. The good news just keeps on coming!!!!

Congrats to my fellow losers! :teeth:

The last couple of days I feel that my pants are a little looser. :cool1: I know come Monday I'll have a new clippie! I'm looking forward to when I can go buy a few new things in a smaller size. I'm hoping to be able to that by my birthday. :flower:

Have a great weekend everyone! :sunny:

wdw4life, I'm cheering you on!!! I'll let the bananna give a workout for ya

Hi all. Everything is going well here. I think my latest stall (or more like a rollercoaster) is finally over. I touched it yesterday but I normally wait until I see it 2 days before I make an official change. I went paintballing for the first time this year yesterday. Boy are my legs sore. A friend of mine and I went out to a local field and played from about 10:30 til almost 5:00. This was the first time we had been to this field and there were alot of kneeling type bunkers. I held my own fairly well out there most of the day. Towards the end of the day though there were a couple of tournament players with expensive equipment that came. The one had a marker (politically correct name for a paintball gun) that he had modified so it shot about 30 balls a second. On a good day I can maybe shoot 5 or 6 balls a second. They tried to dominate the field. All in all it was a good day. If I would have tried to play like that last fall, I probably would have died. Losing this weight and exercising has really helped with my stamana and mobility.

Jeremy, hope your stall is over. I've never went to play paintball, sounds fun!!! However, I'm not sure I want to try it!!!!

Everything is going well here. I have now been maintaining for 6 months and I feel wonderful about that. Losing the weight was hard, but maintaining takes just as much work. I am so happy that I've kept on track all this time.

Good news Jeremy - sounds like you had fun out there !

Keep it up Sheree !! All your hard work has paid off and will continue to pay off ! :cool1:  :cool1:

Okay everyone.. after a pretty good week and a half on phase 1 I just went off yesterday. I'm not gonna say what I ate but it was a carb binge big time :earseek: It wasn't even because I was particularly craving carbs either. I was just so bored of what I was eating that I got to the point where NOTHING on the dang list looked appetizing. Didn't help that I was TOTALLY PMS'ing too.. dang hormones! :teeth:

Now that i've admitted it publically, i'm back on the wagon :)

My question is.. should I start my 2 weeks of phase one all over again?
Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Lisa, I think that would be the best thing to do. You've got to rerid your body of those carbs. A binge is not a bad thing, the only thing you can do is get back on track as soon as possible.
