South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Good luck Jerry!!! And thanks for all the support all. It is hard to stay OP during the holiday season, but after Thanksgiving, I know it can be done. Bring on Christmas :cheer2:

Hi everyone!

It's been a little bit since I've posted to our thread and I wanted to say hi to everyone. I see some new faces and some old familar ones that are back with us again (hey Jerry!).

It sounds like everyone is doing so well and I know I need to be here to keep focused so I'm making a commitment to check in periodically. I'm approaching my one year SBD anniversary on Wednesday and I'm amazed that I've gotten this far and stuck with the program through all the ups and downs that have happened this year.

I've had a nice whoosh after a six week plateau and I'm now at 92 pounds lost which isn't bad for a year's work. This truly is a way of life for me now and I don't apologize in the least when I bring my own wheat bread into a burger joint! :D

Sheree - great job on staying OP with all the temptations that existed last week.

PrincessMichelle - whoohoo!!! What a great job you've done for Phase 1. Keep up the great work as yo u enter Phase 2.

Jerry - Welcome back my friend! I can't believe you have family so close to me. I live in a suburb on the east side of Cleveland but I know the areas where your family lives. It's a small world after all! I wish you all the best as you start Phase 1 again. You were such a great loser the first time around that I know you'll get those pounds off in no time!

johde - it sounds like you've done a great job. Keep it up.

thotfulspot - that chocolate cake sounds wonderful. I don't have the SBD cookbook but it sounds like it's worth it for that recipe alone. I've got a while before Phase 3 and I'm a little nervous about maintenance but having the SBD cookbook will probably be very helpful.

Kind of quiet around here the last few days. Well, so far the Phase 1 Redux is going well. I weigh myself in the morning when I get out of bed and just before I go to bed. As of this morning, I am down three pounds since Monday. Phase 1 is incredible. And this time, I did not have the carb withdrawal headaches and "out of sorts" feelings I had last January.

On another note, when I was back in Cleveland for Thanksgiving, I learned from my family that my big brother (he is the oldest of 7 at 61, I am the youngest at 44 - 5 sisters in between :earseek: ) lost 50 pounds this year on the Atkins diet. That is good news as Dave was starting to get pretty big, and we have a history of heart disease in our family.

Good going Jerry. Phase 1 is great. It is always great for me to know that whenever we gain a little or slip, there is always a remedy to put us back on track

Hey. Well I am back on Phase One again, trying to get my final 10 lbs off. I was relatively good while we had tons of family in town, but what fun we had. Celebrating a new marriage and everyone together, it was very nice. I haven't gained but I sure didn't lose either. So here I go again, 3 days back into Phase 1. So far so good. Seems somehow easy now since I know all the great Phase 1 foods that satisfy me and I don't have headaches anymore because I always watch my sugar now. Its a habit, or maybe just my new way of eating. Anyway, all my best to everyone on the beach. I just want to get this final 10 off, plus maybe a few extra, prior to next months Romantic Disney Cruise for two. Me and hubby are off to the Magic for 4 wonderful nights. I will try to remain on program, but Phase 3 would make that much easier.
Have a great week ladies!! :cool1:

we can't forget you guys now can we :D ::MickeyMo

Just checking in with you guys. It sounds like you all are doing well. The new December exercise challenge starts today and I'm off to a modestly good start.

Not too much else going on except that today makes one year since I've adopted this way of eating and I wouldn't change a thing! This program really does work if you are willing to do your part and my goal is to eat this way for life.

Anyway, I just wanted to be sure to stop by and see how everyone is doing. Keep up the great work guys!

Hello Lisa. I've sent you out a big CONGRATS on another thread. You are doing so well! We all can only hope to match some of your accomplishments

9 lbs to go to goal!!!! Yippeee. I am in single digits. ( I am trying to sike myself up to get through the next week and a half)

Only 9 pounds left? Way to go!!! Before you know it you will be adding the "GOAL" clippie.

Melissa, we'll be pushing you on!!!! Hopefully you'll be there before you know it.

Jerry, it looks like your 1 year anniversary is coming up too

Melissa, congratulations being so close to goal. That red clippie is going to look so good on you!!!

Jerry - Wow! Your one year anniversary is just around the corner. I seems like only yesterday we were all getting started wondering what 2004 would bring us and it's almost gone! I'm sure we will all be making goal in 2005 and then looking forward to Phase 3 and adding back even more foods although I'm happy with everything I eat now.

Sherri - hi girlie! I hope things are well with you. I wanted to say what an inspiration you are for exercising. I can always count to encourage me to keep going on your posts on the daily exercise thread and our Firm thread.

Lisa - wow that 90 pound clippie sure looks great. Congrats on your anniversary.

Jerry and Mellisa - I am back to Phase 1, but with the headache! Today is day 4 and it is better than yesterday was. The great thing is, having been through Phase 1 before, I know the headaches and cravings will go away. In fact, I think the cravings are already just about gone, so hopefully tomorrow I will be headache-free.

I am SO looking forward to getting back on track (pun intended - see my ticker). I really did feel better when I was OP with South Beach!!

Mickey Magic, hang in there, you'll be feeling all better soon!

The cravings hit me last night. My 6 year old has a Girl Scouts function this weekend and she is bringing cookies - so last night LOML made a HUGE batch of chocolate chip cookies. I am proud to say I did not eat any of them - I had a sugar free fudgecicle instead. I think that was the toughest so far.

Don't you hate it when that happens!!!!! I try to keep those healthy snacks around for when those urges hit me. WTG!!!

MickeyMagic - great job you are doing getting back with the program. You'll be feeling better in no time. Like you, I feel so much better on South Beach than when I eat all the things that are no good for me. Thanks for the congrats on my clippie!

Jerry - We're so proud of you resisting those cookies! The toughest temptations for me are when I smell something so good like cookies baking or french fries. I'm okay when I just see tempting stuff like donuts or regular ice cream but the smells get to me. You are one strong willed guy!!!! Keep up the great work!

Way to go everyone. Isn't this way of eating great?!!! Its so easy now I barely think about it. And it is soooo nice to be free of the sugar and bread cravings.
Best of all, Just 6 more pounds now to my goal!!!!!! Yes! Only 6 more. I will so be able to do that before my cruise. I actually hope to lose 5 more than that, but if I hit my goal, I am a happy camper! Can't wait to get that red clippie!!!
Have a great weekend everyone! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
