South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Stick with it S&ksmom - we're here for you !

I got on the scale this morning and my weight was back down to the range of the + or - 2 lbs I've been gaining and losing while maintaining the last 6 months....?????......pretty strange but I'll take it ! I started phase 1 yesterday and I'm still going to stick with it to get myself back into the good eating groove...

Happy New Year to all - looking forward to another good one on the beach!

Good morning everyone!

I hope it's okay if I jump back in and start posting again. I haven't been around in a long long time. I have had so much going on in my life that I haven't had a chance to post. I have been thinking of you all though. I haven't fallen off the wagon either. I've been fortunate enough to have maintained my loss and even have lost another pound. bringing my weight loss total to 109 pounds. I started off weighing sizes 26-28 and now I wear sizes 10-12. My goal is a size 8 and I'm about 10-15 pounds away from it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I'm going to commit myself to posting more often. Take care everyone and glad to hear so many of you are doing so well on program.

Sandy, that's great. Who knows why our bodies do what they do. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but as long as it's coming off right!!

Hello again Lisa. I was so surprised to see you this morning, but it was a wonderful surprise. I had no idea you were so close to goal. WTG!!! You are such an encouragement. Maybe some of the ones who struggle can go back and reread your post and find that something extra they need to get them on track and stay that way.

I'm feeling good this new year. I go to the dr. finally after 2 years tomorrow. She was the one to suggest this low-carb thing, and I'm sure she's not expecting to see me come in 65 pounds lighter!!! Thank goodness for the wol, as it's helped me more than I thought possible. Three weeks will make it 2 years on this plan for me. I never thought I could stick to something this long, but here I am!!!!!!

WTG Sheree! So proud of you girl!
:wave2: HI Lisa. Missed ya, can't believe how close you are to goal. Whoo Hooo.

I am, once again, attempting a cheat free Phase 1. I am nearly through Day 4 ( a record for me) and NO CHEATS. However, I am in need of some great Phase 1 food recommendations. I am sooooo bored. I know I need to do the 3 meals plus snacks. That is hard as I am not hungry. But oh Lord I am bored of the same old stuff.
I am sending DH to the store, don't trust myself to go. I was thinking of telling him to get sugar free fudge pops but not sure if that will mess me up. I have 15 to lose, I gained due to falling off the wagon for a couple months- and so far I have lost 3.5 lbs since Friday. I will do this this time, I am committed like never before. I am excercising and my belly is getting defined. My thighs are taking a while. Ugh.
So any tips?

Hi

I just started SB today. I'm so afraid that I'll fail once again :guilty: that
I haven't told anyone that I've started.

I'm hoping to be 20 pounds lighter when go to Disney in April. My ultimate goal is to lose a total of 75 pounds by next December.

Melissa - for snacks I eat peanuts and the part skim cheese sticks when at work or on the run, and celery sticks w/ salsa when I'm home.......nighttime meals I try to spice up the meat and vary the vegetables.....tonight I'm making pork but marinating it w/ soy sauce, paprika and minced garlic for an hour before I cook it......when I make chicken I sprinkle chili powder on it or minced garlic and rosemary.......try to shake things up with spices to alleviate the boredom....

Welcome disneyjunkie ! Good luck to you as you start life on the beach - we'll be here for support and to answer any questions you may have...

Welcome disneyjunkie! Take it one day at a time and make sure that you drink plenty of water!! If you can find time, add in some exercise. Feel hungry, grab a light snack, they work wonders!!!

Melissa, it's been so long since I was on phase one. Let me give you this website, actually, you all can use it for great receipes and ideas!!!

Hi,
i'm 18, male, from england and some of you may remeber i did the south beach diet a year or two ago and lost about 12 pounds but then gave up. But now i have something to aim for.
I have been accepted on the Walt Disney World International College Program, so will be flying from England on 11th June to work at WDW for 3 months!!!
I will be starting within the next week or 2 which will give me 6 months to look better for my time in florida.
I will check back here often!

Good morning everyone!

Just a quick check in. Thanks so much for the welcome backs. It's been way way too long since I've been gone and it's so nice to see so many familiar faces and so many new ones too!

Stal - congrats on getting accepted into the college program! You must be so excited. I'm glad you've got something to help motivate you to get back on the program. I would definitely encourage you to get started as soon as possible. Sometimes the longer you wait, the harder it is when that set date comes, know what I mean? I've experienced that a time or two myself. Whenever you start, just let us know so that we can encourage you.

disneyjunkie - here's another hardy welcome to the Beach!

Stal, congrats and welcome back! Take it one day at a time and before you know it........

Day 5 nearly done, and NO CHEATS. I have been doing better with remembering to snack and drinking my water. I am down 4lbs and not checking again until Friday. I get too obsessed. I began serious workouts today, too. :cool1:
I may actually do it this time! 9 days to go on Phase 1!

One week to go! Whoo Hoo, I made it one week with no cheats. I have faithfully excercised and stayed on plan. I have, however, weighed myself obsessively. The scale has not moved and I have been feeling a bit bummed, which has caused DH to feel it is necessary to hide the scale until I complete Phase 1. I feel thinner, though. And I don't have any cravings for bread. But I would love a nice glass of wine, it has been a stress cooker lately. But I will wait until next Friday. Maybe I won't want it by then.
Anyhow, hope all is going well with everyone else.
Oh, and Lisa, I want to see a current pic of you. Way to got with your goal in sight. Its sooooo close now. Congrats to all the 'losers'! :cheer2:

Congrats Melissa - one week down, one to go ! Keep it up ! :cool1:

Melissa, congrats!!! I remember that darn scale thing. Lisa and I had to do a month of no weighing on the scale we were so obsessed and angry when it did not move. Remember that you are exercising. The scale will come down, just be patient!!!!!

I'm limping back! I had some personal/work/health - you name it - issues last fall and went off Dis and semi-off my diet. I started cheating here and there and then one day I found myself eating ice cream straight out of the tub. Sound familiar to anyone?
Amazingly, the damage was not as bad as I had feared. As Dr. Agaston (spelling?) wrote in his book - that we do cheat, but we need to get back on track. There is also a section in there about just how much we would have to cheat to pile on the pounds! (I've been re-reading my book as you can tell.)
So, I am back. I'm doing Phase 1 to kick start my loss. It is working. I am down 2 lbs as of day 3. I just keep reminding myself this takes planning, but it works!
So, hi everyone. You are all an inspiration the way you have stayed on South beach for so long.

HI Calena. I, too, strayed. I had lost 30 since my last baby and then I started cheating a little more here and there. I went totally off for the whole summer and gained back 10. So, that combined with the 5 I still had to lose....I am back to Phase 1 as well. I am on Day 8, so far cheat free- a first for me (and I have tried Phase 1 tons of times). I won't be able to weigh again until next Friday when my DH gives me my scale back, but I feel sooooo much better. Its tough to get back in the groove, especially Phase 1 ( I will never do it again! I swear!) but at least you aren't alone. I am right here with you. We can do it! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well, here goes. I currently weigh 231 lbs :faint: , have had serious back problems because I'm carrying around too much weight, HATE the way I look and have decided to make a change in my life. I bought a SBD book yesterday and am giving myself a week to read it. I'm ready to get started! I haven't read all of the prior posts, but am looking forward to getting to know everyone, get some good recipes and lots of support  . Thanks to Lisa who gave me some much needed encouragement today  :
