South Beach Dieters......... Unite

Hi there,
I'm new to SB, DH and I started 2 days ago. This morning i woke up feeling horrible. Dizzy, weak, and sick to my stomach. So I was wondering, is south beach for everyone? Maybe I should just start with Phase 2.

cwnhokie, first of all, let me say welcome. The SBD is a great, great plan. Second let me say many of us felt that way at first. I call it sugar withdrawel. It's something that just happens. Let me reassure you that it does pass. Give it another couple of days. That just one of the effects when you take all those carbs out of your system. Hang in there, it will get better and you'll be a couple of pounds lighter!!!

Hi
cwnhokie
As Sheree' said, I think we all went through this for at least a couple of days. For me at least, after this phase I started feeling better than I had in a long time. Stick with it and give it a few more days. Also, remember to eat your snacks during the day. I found they helped me out.

Congratulation on your new 15lb clippie. That is great.

I already cracked. I only have about 5 or 10 lbs left to loose and they are all around the middle, so that's why I decided to try South Beach. But at the same time I have gotten back into the gym and now I'm going to try to eat better, like phase 2. I just felt so bad, I woke up at 4AM and couldn't get back to sleep, I was so sick. I broke down and ate some cheerios. DH is still on it, so I'm trying to support him. I'll just be having brown rice and whole wheat bread with my meals. Thanks for the advise, maybe I'll try again another time or maybe just starting with phase 2 and going to the gym regularly will work.

Hi everyone!

It's been a few weeks since I've posted, but I'm glad to be back. :)

DH and I just returned from our wonderful cruise, and I gained about 5 lbs. But it was worth it...completely. ;) However, when your body starts to crave whole grains and vegetables you know it's time to get back on the beach!

I'm back on Phase 2. I really didn't want to back to Phase 1, and so far I've been doing good on Phase 2. The hard thing is...I need to get back to exercising. :cool1:

Talk to you all soon!

Welcome back Florida mom. It's nice to let go once in a while. When I'm in Disney, although I try to stay OP, I find that I misss my veggies and somethimes just eating those other things makes me crave my good food again. Five pounds doesn't sound bad and is probably all water, it'll go quick.

Welcome back Floridamom, five pounds, boy if only I would gain that after a trip!

Hi all

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted. How is everyone doing? Last weekend I hit a new low weight but as been the pattern, this week has been up. Between Holloween, and a pot lock at church Last night I'm up about 2.5 lbs for the week. The fact the pot luck was just last night means I will probably lose a fair amount of that by tomorrow. Welcome back Floridamom.

Hi guys sorry it's been a while since I posted too. Been maintaining I think but it's been hard as I have been working at some seminars and it's so easy to order off the menu. But have stayed away from most of the Halloween candy.

I'm still doing great. I had noticed how quiet is was around here, and just figured everyone was busy. I hope everyone is hanging in there. With the holiday season coming up, we have to be more careful than usual!

Jeremy, it'll come back down! Just wait, and congrats on being at a new low!

Good afternoon everyone!!! Wow, am I busy. I just found out that I'm having family come for Thanksgiving. Now the mad rush is on for all the goodies!!! For them anyway :) Oh well, just checking in. Everything is still going good. I'm feeling my 2 year anniversary coming up and boy am I getting excited...............

Wow, found us on the second page. That doesn't happen often at all. I hope all is going well and you have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Okay. I went back to school and have been using that as a lame way to rationalize eating whatever the heck I feel like whenever I feel like it. I had lost close to forty pounds and have gained nearly half of it back. Sheree -- congratulations on your anniversary!!! How do you do it? How do you keep yourself motivated? It seems like I do very well until my routine gets disrupted or the pressure really kicks up and then I fall to pieces. In the next two weeks I have a retirement party, an end of the semester "celebration", a birthday party, and a trip to Disney World, so I'm not even going to pretend that I'm headed back to the beach till that's behind me. I don't think I could stand it if I set myself up to fail again. I have, however, dug out my beach book and even ordered the new cookbook. When the semester ends I want to hit the ground running, so I can have good habits established by the time the craziness starts up again.
:guilty:

Honestly, what keeps me motivated is looking at all those old pictures. I keep remembering how sad and unhappy I was 65 pounds heavier. How I couldn't go up a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to pass out at the top. How whe I got on a plane, how uncomfortable the seats were because I didn't fit in them well. Listening to my 4 almost 5 year old calling me fat. Walking in a store to buy a size 14W and knowing that it didn't fit all that well. There are so many things that keep me going. I feel good now. A size 2 suits me well. I can't imagine being any other way and it helps keep me on track and in shape.

We all have to find our motivation. It will be that thing that keeps you on track when you want to quit and say it isn't worth it. I hope you find it!! I know you can do it......

Hi all.
Wow. It's been a while since I've posted. Must be getting ready for my trip to WDW. I leave a week from Wednesday. Thanksgiving could have been better. I'm up a little bit more from what I was. About 5lbs total from my lowest weight. I'm hoping some more of that will come off quickly after life get's back to normal this week.

Welcome Steve's Wife good to have you around. Things are a little show around here now probably because of the holiday.

Jeremy, have fun on your trip! I leave here on the 10th to DW. I'm trying to decorate a house, the tree and start packing!!! What a whirlwind going on around my house right now!!!

I noticed were were going to be at OKw at the same time. I am there from the 7-9 then from the 11-16. Who knows we may see each other on the bus.
