South Beach Dieters Thread ??? Anyone???

And you would think being nurses in a healthcare setting there would be more healthy food. But no, we are bigger junk food junkies than anyone. I guess no one gets excited about a veggie platter;)

I'd like to get into nursing so I suppose I'll have to watch out for that. ;) I suppose it could be because your energy levels raise with the sugar. Although the crash can be spectacular....

So it is day three of phase 1 and I am doing well, one little slip up. I was making strawberry shortcake for my husband and after I mixed the sugar with the strawberries I just popped one in my mouth without even thinking of it. :confused3 It was just a quarter of a strawberry but I was just surprised that is was so automatic .:sad2: Anyway I weighed my self today and these are the stats
SW 228
CW 226.8:cheer2:
GW 115-125
Hope everyone has a great day

Day 2 on SB for myself and my daughter.

My sad story is: I was a Weight Watcher at goal for 5 years! Then I moved to Orlando and I gained 13 pounds. Lost around 8 on WW and then it just kept moving up or not moving at all. DD needs to lose more weight than I do, and I figure if I do all the cooking and packing of food, we can do this together. I would ideally like to lose 10 pounds.

Chinese food??? I made "Chinese food" last night. DD doesn't like cabbage -- but she doesn't realize what's in egg rolls is cabbage and she loves egg rolls. A little EVOO in the pan, some chicken broth, rice vinegar, low sodium soy sauce, a bag of cole slaw mix, 1 inch of fresh ginger grated, garlic, left over trimmed pork chops and mmm-mmmm ... lettuce wraps!!

I'm hoping this will work for me. I'm not expecting to drop 8-11 pounds in the induction phase, though. :goodvibes I'd be happy with 4-5.

And as for junk food -- let me tell you, working for Disney, it's *all* about the food. Currently down the hall there is half a birthday cake, Dunkin Donuts, pastries, etc.

If I can get us to stick to this for 6 months (with the occasionally "off" for birthdays, etc. -- then we'll do the induction phase again), I'm hoping to see some progress! I keep telling her this is not a quick fix. It's going to take time.

You work at the world? Oh, man! Jealous jealous jealous! :wizard:
I'm guessing you've either done Atkins (I have, too) or know a lot about it because on SB it's not called induction. :hippie:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE CHINESE FOOD!!!!!! ...but I can't eat it or it would be the death of me. :guilty:

I'm a bad mom. I always say to my DD13 that if she doesn't eat her dinner that means she isn't hungry. She has now acquired a taste for most of the things I offer her now. It was a tough 3 weeks to get through, but I got her where I want her.

As for Disney World...I couldn't work there because then there wouldn't be anymore turkey legs to sell. :lmao:

Anyway, you can drop over 5lbs of water weight in P1. Don't worry. :goodvibes

I'm almost at my second anniversary working for "The Mouse." :)

Actually, I haven't done Atkins, I don't know where I came up with the "induction" word! :confused3

And one of the best things about working at The World -- I can go to Typhoon Lagoon after work and cool off before I go home (but now it's closing at 5:00).

I don't know what those are. :confused3 I haven't been to WDW in 10 years.

They are like pinapple frozen yogurt then with pineapple juice for the float:lovestruc

I have a confession to make, well not a confession just a embarassing thing. Last night I had a dream where I was absolutely pigging out on skittles (they are my favorite candy and have been since I can remember), like literally swimming through them like scrooge mcduck:scared: :scared1: This was triggered because we went to costco to stock up on groceries and hubby bought a like 5lb bag of skittles. But I didn't eat any:) . Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

Phase I desserts, anyone?

Did you eat the ricotta cheese dessert every night? My little diet mind has a hard time wrapping around that. I made a lemon one last night (first one) and it was way good, but I can't see eating one of these every night.

Did you eat the desserts and still lose?

The whip sounds good. Swimming through them a la scrooge. That's great. :rotfl2: I've had dreams where I ate so much I exploded (like Mr. Creerso on Monty Python's Meaning of Life).

And as for the desserts, I think you can eat them and still lose weight. That's why they're in P1. :goodvibes

You're talking about the ones that SBD sells? I don't buy any of that stuff. I make my own food. BUT! I only eat my ricotta in my lasagna so in saying all of that...that dessert doesn't sound very good to me. :goodvibes
