Jill-I am getting ready to try it-it looks better to me than Atkins for the long term. Read the book-South beach is "almost exactly" like Atkins for the first two weeks only! And I have read all three of Dr Atkins books, the South beach book and done a ton of academic research into evolutionary diet. This diet does not rely on ketosis and goes along way to teach you the difference between "good" and "bad" carbs, does a great job of explaining why your gain weight beyond just calories. Except for the fact that it allows whole grain bread after the first phase it looks a little more like evolutionary diet than most lo carb plans. You will likely not be in ketosis after the first two weeks.-remember that if you think that is the only way to loose weight. It allows you some flexibility in what you eat and is probably easier to stick with long term and will have less rapid rebound weight gain if you slip up than Atkins. I like it because it is lower carb with out ketosis-I know enough about human biology to feel like, even though it is not dangerous, long term ketosis (I would like to loose 75 lbs) is not something I want to do to my body.
I have also been going to Curves-I have not been a part of the WISH team but I guess I fit the profile so where do I sign up?
