Well, I just finished phase one with a 6 pound loss. 5 of it was in the first week, so I slowed down a bit already I guess! Overall, I'm happy with this plan and feel like I can stay on it. I've got 30 plus pounds to go, but feeling very optimistic.

How's everyone else doing?

I am on day four of week 1 so I will post some progress in the next week or two.

Hi fellow South Beach Dieters! :D

I lost 5 lbs. total in phase 1 - 4 the 1st week and 1 the 2nd. I'm trying to stay off the scale since it's been going up and down a lot, but it's so hard!

I started Phase 2 on Monday but I'm taking it really slow. Today will be the most carbs I've had so far. I'm having chicken kabobs for dinner with lots of grilled veggies and some wheat taboule salad. I'm also having some cottage cheese and cantalope for a snack right now and the last couple nights I had strawberries with sugar free pudding for dessert. It makes me nervous but I haven't experienced any bad cravings or anything yet.

Let's be sure to keep each other posted on our progress every week!

I lost 9 pounds during phase 1 with six of them being the first week. I think I have been doing okay in phase 2, but I haven't weighed myself. I definitely like eating something besides eggs for breakfast, and I was missing my milk so I am glad to have that back. Yesterday I might have gone overboard on fruit, but I feel I had a good day today. I only weigh once a week, but we are going to Chicago this weekend so I may weigh Friday before we go.

I'm on Day 9 of week 1 (but who's counting). I lost 5 the first week and plan on weighing myself tomorrow. This week has been much harder than the first. I haven't cheated but boy have I had sugar cravings. Also I will be quite happy to have something other than eggs for breakfast.

It's been really helpful to hear others experiences so thanks to all!

I lost quite a bit on Phase One and slowed down on Phase 2 of course but it was such a healthy way for me to lose. I also try to exercise 4-5 times a week which really helps. I was really scared to go to Phase 2 but if I over do it I just go to Phase 1 for a day or 2 and it really helps. I feel so much better and the few times I have been bad and I mean really bad I found that I felt just awful. Like a food hangover. The older I get I find the more food affects me. Plus for motivation I have my 20 year high school reunion so every time I do a sit up I think of that!

After 5 days, I can say this is something I will stick with a while. I can already tell that I have lost, although I was doing Atkins before, but had stalled. This makes so much sense to me because of watching the carbs and fat intake.

I've tried a few of the recipes in the book, but honestly, I live for my 30 pistachio nuts and my 1 sugar-free fudgsicle each day!! (I tried the ricotta cheese dessert they suggest, and I just couldn't stand it.) I use my pistachio nuts as my day snack and my sugar-free fudgsicle for dessert after dinner and I am happy! :D :D

I'm not tired of eggs yet, although I have been eating them for the past several weeks when on Atkins before I started SBD. I just mix up how I eat them--today I had 2 over-easy on top of canadian bacon--it was yum!! However, I can suggest cottage cheese--a little cinnamon and sweetner--you can even warm it a little.

Keep up the good work all of you!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'll try to keep this thread pushed up toward the top so we can check in!

Well, I'm halfway through my first week in phase two. A sneak peek at the scale shows I lost another two pounds - I'm guessing some of that is leftover loss that hadn't shown on the scale last week. My official weigh in day is coming up on Wednesday.

I've been adding more carbs. Mostly I've been pretty good about it, but they haven't all been "good carbs". I had some white rice at the Chinese Buffet and I'm sure some of the sauces on my vegies and meat had lots of sugar and starch. (I was surprised to find though, that it didn't turn out to be a hard place to eat reasonably - my kids love that place!) One day my high carb food was blackberries. All in all I've been able to control my intake on those kind of foods pretty well, but I've been enjoying being able to loosen up a bit!

I'm glad to hear everyone seems to be doing so well!

Hi all,

Glad to hear all are doing well.

I am just starting wk4 of Phase 2 - I lost 9lbs in the first 2wks (phase1) but have not lost any on wk3, but have not gained either. But having followed the diet I thought I would lose something!!

But I will keep going as I am still not missing the carbs - but for all the effort want to see at least a 1lb come off every week!!

Nice to see how other are doing.

Speak again soon

I started SB on 8-18 and have lost 14 pounds. I have not cheated, nor feel the need to, which is a first for me on a diet. The carb cravings are gone and I am having no problem not having bread, pasta or potatoes. My downfall has always been sweets, but I don't miss them either. I feel I can stay on this for the long haul.

Hi everyone!

I just finished my first week on Phase 2 and I think I might have gained a pound. I'm kind of disappointed but not too discouraged. I did cheat a little bit - I had a chocolate chip cookie at a party, a couple tortilla chips and about 2 bites of my son's pumpkin pie. Overall though, I've been doing very well and have hardly added any carbs back into my diet because other than sweet, I don't really miss them either! I did have a couple glasses of allowable red wine over the weekend and that was really good. That's one thing that will probably keep me in Phase 2!

Because of my small gain last week, I think I'm going to do 1 day on Phase 2 and the next day on Phase 1 this week. Hopefully that will show some results!

Hang in there everyone!
:D

After a weekend in Chicago, I stayed the same this past week. (It was my first week on Phase 2.) I am okay with this because I did have some sweets in Chicago, but I ate so much better than I would have had I not been on this diet for three weeks. Today I was really good and even exercised so hopefully, I will lose some more soon!

Everyone is doing great - it's working!!! I'm so glad everyone's posting, because even though I'm losing I'm still not totally convinced this will work. Isn't that stupid?

I weighed in this morning and am down another 3 pounds - bringing my 3 week total to 9 pounds gone. Yeah!!!

Just starting wk4 on phase2 and did not lose last week - after being really good - don't understand!

I know I lost about 9lb the first 2wks and I guess I was hoping to lose at least 2lb on wk3 - but I will soldier on as I like the feeling of being in control about what I do and don't eat and fitting back into my clothes.

Good luck everyone.
