Soup or Salad for App?

On the DDP, can you substitute a soup or salad for the listed appetizers for lunch and dinner? Looking at the places we want to try, there are some where we would prefer the salad - is that an acceptable substitution under the "laws of dining"?

Hello and welcome. I see you are "earning your ears".

Not sure if you are on the regular plan or the deluxe plan?

DDP stands for the regular plan (disney dining plan) and the DxDDP (deluxe dining plan), it can be a bit confusing....

Anyway if you are on the regular DDP you do not get an appetizer with your meal. So no would be the answer.

If you are on the DxDDP (deluxe) then it can happen. Just depends on the restaurant. But I have heard many people not have an issue with this.
