The thread about the Five Best TV Shows got me thinking. Maybe my choices weren't really my favorites, because most of what I posted I don't own. Maybe the ones I own are actually my favorites because I felt they were worth buying?

So, here's my updated favorites list....based on what I own:

Stargate: SG1
Stargate: Atlantis
Psych
The Brady Bunch
Lost in Space
Warehouse 13
Eureka
The Big Bang Theory
The Andy Griffith Show

The TV shows/series I own (just some seasons, not all) on DVD are:

The Waltons
Little House on the Prairie
St. Elsewhere
Everybody Loves Raymond
Mama's Family
ER
Two and a Half Men
The Big Bang Theory
Mike & Molly
Duck Dynasty
Survivor

I wouldn't consider most of them being my favorites NOW, but have been in the past so I wanted to purchase at least one or two seasons of them for our library.

We do still watch and enjoy Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly, Duck Dynasty and Survivor though so I guess those would be current favorites.

I still would like to buy one or two seasons of a few other old favorites like The Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, etc. And I would love to have a few DVD's of a really old show, The Lawrence Welk Show. I watch it occasionally on PBS, and it brings back wonderful memories of watching it with my grandparents so I would love to add some of that show to our library as well.

Me too. I lived far from my sets of Grandparents, but when they came, that was our thing to do, watch Lawrence Welk together. :)

L&Lfan, that's a big list with some great shows on it.

I thought I was the only one watching LW on PBS! My parents used to watch it every week (I especially remember the late '60s and '70s) and I thought it was the corniest thing, but now I LOVE it. Brings me such warm memories of my parents (both gone now) and my youth.

I have like the complete Sex and the City series and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I think SATC is my favorite of all, I am actually looking forward to re-watching that series over the summer.

I own all of:
The West Wing
Friends
Grey's Anatomy
Gilmore Girls
Once Upon a Time

plus many others.

But those I would say are my top 5.

The only TV shows that we actually own are Firefly (which is in my top 5) and The Shield (I got it for DH for Christmas on a great Amazon deal), unless you count miniseries. Then I have From The Earth To The Moon, Band of Brothers, The 10th Kingdom, and Planet Earth.

Seinfeld
Sex and the City
King of Queens
The Brady Bunch
Band of Brothers
The Sopranos

They are sort of our favorites. We have a bunch of "Everybody Loves Raymond". We've probably had those the longest. We have most (maybe all?) of "Grounded For Life". That's a hit with everyone in the family. The personal favorites I have added are all 9 seasons of "24". I won't sell those. I will actually watch those over again one day. My daughter and I have enjoyed watching "Grey's Anatomy" and have all of those. I bought "Private Practice" but stopped about half way through. It just wasn't that good.

I never buy new though, always second hand on Ebay. I've gotten some great bargains as others look to downsize their collections.

We own all of (up to this point): Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Once Upon A Time and Teen Wolf. DD also has several seasons of Full House. Dh has Bonanza. I would love to have I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith.

I have all of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and all of Angel, and those are favorites.
I also have all of Lois And Clark. I only have all of those because a couple of years ago, I got a boxed set of the best of Superman on TV, and it came with season one of Lois and Clark, Smallville, The Adventures of Superman, and a few of the animated series as well. I wanted to watch Lois and Clark, because I only saw some of it back in the day, but I didn't want to watch just one season. One day, I was at Big Lots, and found the rest of the series for real cheap.
