Hi all. Sorry to do this, but I am needing boys names. I also need feedback on some names that my husband and myself are thinking about using.

Keep in mind that my dd's name is Kaylee Madison. Also we are huge StarWars fans! :darth: :yoda: :chewy: :ewok:

We are thinking about Anakin as a first name. I love it. I have loved it since I heard it a long time ago in a galaxy far far away..LOL I hope George Lucas does not sue me!!LOL My husband likes Anakin, but loves Vader. He said that would be the coolest first name ever. I just dont think I want my child to have that name. Yeah I am a StarWars junkie, but do you all think Vader would be a good choice? Would people assume he is mean??? I dont know. Need feedback, and other name choices

Thanks :goodvibes

We have 4 sons so we have looked at many boy names. I love Anakin. Of course we try not to use common names since hubby & I both grow up with common names. Our boys are Riley Michael, Avery Tyler, Gavin Alexander & Cooper Ethan. Good luck with the name search.

I don't have any ideas for you, but wanted to share that my 7 year old cousins name is Anakin and he absolutely LOVES his name! He's a big Star Wars fan (obviously his parents are too!)

I have a Jensen Wade and a Hayden Christopher.

Sorry, OP, I am NOT a Star Wars fan but that being said..whether or not I am a fan...VADER is well not humm well what I am trying to say is I DON'T LIKE IT...you asked I am being honest.

My sons:
Christopher Brett
Michael Patrick

I do like the name Anakin ,Not Vader, It does sound mean.
My dh wanted to name our last son Ryder . But i wanted Kyle, so that's what we named him But i wish i would have listen to DH Because he looks like a Ryder.
Kim

I would nix Vader in a heartbeat. Sorry, it does sound mean.

Anakin would be my choice if it were between the two.

What middle name are you thinking (if one at all?)

I would be afraid that Vader might get him a lot of picking on. Depends on his personality if he would love it or hate it. For a star wars fan I would pick Lucas. Love the name, and he could always use Luke if he wanted to.

I have 2 girls, but the boys names I liked were Parker and Rylan. I do not like Vader either, but Anakin is different, and I actually like that one. I know DH wouldn't have, but were not really star wars fans.

I have two boys Xander Tyree 7, and Jaylen Andrew 2. I love different names. I almmost named Jaylen, Jayce but DH did not like that one. I would suggest getting on the Social Security website they have top 1000 baby name list for each decade. The list has some different names on it toward the ends of the lists. It is free and you can print it off and highlight the names you like.

:confused3 I've got nothing. I'm not a Star Wars fan. Having two people agree on a name is hard enough. Throw Star Wars in the mix and you have a tough job ahead. Good luck.

I am not a Star Wars fan but I just don't like the sound of Vader. I'm sorry that is just my opinion. I do like Anakin! I teach first grade and DH is a high school teacher and we have never had an Anakin in either of our classrooms! I love different names but I think Vader is a bit odd.

Congratulations!!!!!! YEAH a new baby!!!!!

Oh, my children are

David Christopher (not very different I wanted him to be Logan but Hubby won)
Lauren Marie
Kennedy Amelia

:scratchin I'm sitting here scratching my head over the thought that someone would actually name their child, who is actually going to have to bear that name for about 80 years, after a Star Wars character. I don't like either name. :rolleyes1 But go ahead and inflict him if you must

:thumbsup2 Anakin My sons name is Dakota James (he gets alot of north or south questions) That I dont like...I told him to answer "it is Lakota for Friend or alli" that usually shuts them up. I think uncommon names are great. I like common names when they are paired with a cute middle name.
The names I had picked for my 2nd son were Logan(im a big XMen fan) MY son had suggested Anakin, I also had Tristan and Forrest but after all that I let DH name him he ended up being Zachary Edward it kind of fits because he is definately a "Zach attack" aka(a small tornado) :rotfl:

some of the boys names that friends of mine have used are, Ryan Vallie, Keiryn, Fabio and another friend of mine named his dd Jessica ok pretty normal right? well their last name is James! Jessie James for a girl is sooo cute to me. I also knew someone who had 3 kids named Cliff, Brooke and Skye (yup she was a hippie) Good luck with whatever name you choose :sunny:

Beachgrl: My nephew's name is Dakota James!!

I personally do not like Vader at all!

I really don't like Anakin either. JMHO!

I like Zander, Xavier, Landon, and Cooper.

Good luck and congrats on the new baby!!!

I like Star Wars. Wouldn't say I'm a fanatic or anything, but I do like it. DH can quote it (like every movie. lol.). I like Anakin. I also like Hayden. (Hayden Christopher, way cute.) They are Star Wars, but not too Star Wars. Vader would make me whip out some lines every time I saw him. Plus, it is a tad dark. I mean, isn't that one of the most famous villans? How about Hook? DH just said he doesn't like either. But he's a little too normal sometimes. lol.
ETA: I knew girls in school named Amber, Seinna, & another color.

I am a Star Wars fan, and I love the sound of the name Anakin. However, I don't know if I would saddle a child with it since it does have some negative connotations (you wouldn't name your kid Adolf, right?) That being said, I can see why you are tempted because it has a great sound, it's a good, masculine-sounding name, and it's original but also easy to pronounce. How about Luke? Or Harrison (if you're a fan of Han Solo). Or using it as a middle name?

but I also love the name Ryder - so cute and it transfers into adulthood easily. Some names are cute for kids, but imagine a 50 year old Vader???? Personally, I don't like it. It almost makes me want to laugh - not cool at all for a kid. I like the names Gage and Cade and I also kinda like Dawson.

Good luck making a decision!!!
