What about Sky Walker...Sky...... Sky W. Lastname..... Kaylee and Sky.

I have a friend named Sky and it really suits him well and he's about 30 now. I think Sky would be a very nice name and original.

I'm not a fan of the name Vader for a sweet, baby boy, maybe as a nickname when he's older ;) :darth:

Anakin is cute, but I'm on the fence

Other Star Wars connected names I like:

George
Lucas
Luke
Harrison
Owen
Ben
Ewan
Walker
Hayden

and

Yoda :yoda: :p

Good Luck :thumbsup2

:scratchin I'm sitting here scratching my head over the thought that someone would actually name their child, who is actually going to have to bear that name for about 80 years, after a Star Wars character. I don't like either name. :rolleyes1 But go ahead and inflict him if you must

ITA. I met someone who named their little boy "Valen" after a character in a science fiction show called Babylon 5. That poor kid.

I agree! WHen teaching you begin to have "associations" with certain names too. It made our choice really difficult! We have a Declan Graham (pronounced Decklan, Graham comes from DH's middle name and his dad's middle name)
Whatever your choice, your child will be special!

We have a Declan too! We don't hear it too often in Ohio...I have only met one other one and they are from Canada. It seems to be more popular in Canada.

Our other son is named Brennan Joseph, which I really like. It's different but not too crazy.

And if you are totally set on Star Wars, what about Ben (Obi Wan's nickname), Hans (Han Solo), or Luke? I think Anakin is a tough name for a kid since he will ALWAYS be associated with Star Wars, and Vader is just way too out there.

BTW...if dd was a boy, she was going to be Jake Ryan from Sixteen Candles :rotfl2: ...but Jake got too popular when our ds's were born.

Actually I like Anakin.
I like Luke Skywalker "Jones".

REALLY LOVE.... Conner Jack ...My sister considered this name but is having a GIRL, so its Sophie Kate!

Ahh the naming choices....lol

here I am 32 1/2 weeks pg and we still do not have a set name for our upcomming baby boy.

I do think Anakin is totally cute for a baby and a very young boy but as he gets older I just don't know that it would fit anymore, kwim?

Vader, I just don't care for that one at all and think he would be very made fun of for it so i would stay away from that one. ;)

However I do understand liking something different. Normally I like pretty common names..as you can see my sons name is Ethan and his middle name is Alexander but with this boy we both really like Lakin a lot and would love to use it but are very worried he would be made fun of as everyone we have said it to makes comments about not liking it or such.. So I think we will avoid it. We are thinking now of using Evan Michael, Aaron Michael, Noah Michael or something like that..lol I hope we choose soon before this little guy gets here. :confused3

Good luck!! :thumbsup2

I thought of a couple more:

Austin
Brennan
Justice
Malcolm
Blake

Although it's not Star Wars, I haven't seen my son's name here - Kenton. We planned on calling him Kent as he got older, but it's never happened. He's now 20 and we've only seen his name a few other times.

I also like Jackson, but it's now very popular in the South.

It's Italian but what about Luca. Not short for anything just Luca! I think its so cute....met a little boy with this name and what a doll he was!!!! :thumbsup2

this thread caught my eye and i wanted to share the boy name I had picked out, but never got to use - Drake. i just love that name. i like to pick more adult sounding names as an adult with a 'kid' sounding name. My daughters are Taylor and Paige.

fun to read how one name is popular in one area and unique in another. i have spend alot of time in the elementary schools over the past 8 years and here are the names mentioned on this thread that i recognized in Ohio --- Hayden, Gage, Aidan, Avery, Tristan. and some other more unique names i've heard for here are -- Cade and Javan.

Good luck! it's a tough decision, for me once i shared the name over and over and it still sounded great and impressie that i knew it was the right one for this new person :wave2:

I knew a fella named, "Dallas". I love that name!

Others I like:

Miles
Patrick
Phillip
Gregory
Seth

I had a list some time ago. I wonder where it went...

Hi there,

Naming a child is such a difficult task. We named our DD Hailey. Had no idea how popular it was as neither of us ever met a Hailey in real life. I had seen a soap many years previous with a character named Hailey and loved the name. With our son we just could not decided. We are huge Sopranos fans. Luckily my husband is Anthony so we could do Anthony Jr and have our lil AJ. Anthony is common but we only call him AJ.

One of the boys in my DD's class is Asher. I like it. I like Aniken but I'd be concerned he'd get "Annie" growing up. Kids are mean. I really don't like Vador, it sounds limiting career wise.

Other names I like are: Jack, Ian, Lucas, Hayden, Connor, Nash

When I was pregnant with my son I came up with a very ethnic sounding name (not our background) and could not understand why people gave me the deer in the headlights look when I mentioned it! I still like the name but it would have sounded really odd with my son. AJ fits him perfectly and he seems to like it.

Good luck!

My DH is Jordan. Not too popular but not too unique either. One problem is that when we named him it was pretty much an all boy name but it has come unisex. While I like unisex for girls, not sure I would have used it knowing it would become unisex. I love these boy names:
Blaine
Cooper
Colby
Dyllon
Garrison
Jason (this one used to be so popular but not so much any more)
Landon
Quinn
Shane
Trevor
Travis

I wanted to use an made up name (Kyson) with Ds but DH shot it down.

Don't forget the check out the long girls name thread too.

My son is Carter Dean

other names I like are:

Xander
Riley
Cade
Aiden

we named our daughter Rayne Renee after a comic book character (Wolfsbane (Rahne))
