I use the SEARCH area to find relevant information so I don't post things that were already answered...

Can anyone tell me/us when the SEARCH button will be working again?

I am getting the message, "Sorry. The search function has been disabled by the administrator."

I am getting this message in all of the forums.

Hi fairytinkerbell!

The search feature is "load sensitive," which means that the more people that are on the boards, the less that people can use Search.

Since there was evidently some server problems when the boards were down the other day it may be that the "load" was adjusted.

Sorry that you are having problems using search. You may have more success using it early in the morning or late at night.

If you cannot use search, then just post away. There are lots of people here who are eager to help...

Can they adjust the load so that we can all use the search area?? I don't know why but i can never seem to use it since the boards were down for maintenance the other day....

I hope it starts working again...

Also, can they change the colors of this forum to the colors you used in
Disney Resorts board? They are very clear and easier to read quickly.
I guess it has to do w/ the colors....

Not to be difficult , promise, but it's been down every time I checked it since before 6 AM. Surely, there couldn't have been that many people on then. I've been trying to find a trip report, so I kept checking back. Not complaining, swear !

I know that you guys are not complaining. Believe me, Search is a very handy thing and it is frustrating when it is not working. I miss it myself.

What I do know is that the server seems to be having some "issues" and when the server has "issues" the Tech Folks start disabling things which have the largest draw on them. From what I understand, Seach is a HUGE draw on the server. We have not been told this, but if you are having trouble using it even at 6 AM (I am assuming EDT, Leslie?), then Search may be completely turned off (temporarily, I'm sure!!!)

fairytinkerbell, I don't think that things are as easy as just throwing a switch and adjusting the "load." There are probably software issues, perhaps even hardware issues. There are just so many who visit and post to this site, that we often outgrow the current capabilities. And there is always the matter of $$$. I am not saying that that IS the problem, I just don't know.

I am sorry that you are having a hard time reading posts on this board. Actually, I find it EASIER to read this board than reading on the green background on the Resorts Board. I am not sure if there is anything that you can to to adjust the colors in your Internet Explorer Options. That might be a great question for our Tech Board. You can find it by clicking on the drop down menu at the bottom of the page.

Go ahead and make a new post. Often someone else who happens to sign on during a slack time will read your post and do a search for you successfully and make a link to other posts as a reply in your post!
