I truly despise shopping there! I hardly ever go there, but DD15 had to get some supplies for her cheerleading squad and her coach told her to go there. Well, as soon as we walked in the door, there was a mother with a 3 or 4 year old SCREAMING in the stroller and the mother stood there doing nothing to console the child or find out what the problem was. She was totally oblivious that everyone was staring. The store itself was trashed and I just could not wait to get out of there. Every single time I've gone in there, it's been a similar experience and I remember why I don't shop there more often. YUCK!

Yeh, I agree with you. We have a Wal-mart close by(5 min) and I hardly ever go. I'd rather drive the extra 10-15 minutes to get to Target because it's a much more pleasent experience.

I have a Super Walmart about 5 mins from the house, and I do all of my grocery shopping there. Its been maintained very well, and I try to go later at night when the "less desirables" have left. But I would prefer to do my shopping at Super Target

I'm with you! I HATE Wal-Mart...I do all of my shopping at Target.

I have a brand new Neighborhood Walmart Grocery in my neighborhood that I can walk to. I wasn't too happy at first, but I actually love the place. Its just a small grocery store - but it is fairly nice. And since it is new, it is still clean. :D

Our local WAl-Mart has been open for over a year now. I hate shopping there. The lines are always long and I rarely find what I go there for. I also find that their selection of better quality merchandise is almost non-existant. The only advantage it has over Target is that Wal-Mart is less than 5 minutes from my house. Target is 10 minutes away in Delaware.

You gotta be kidding me - I love WAL-MART!! It is always noisy enough in there so that other shoppers barely notice when the kids are screaming (or I'm screaming at them). The salespeople don't seem to mind too much when the kids amuse themselves by having races down the isles, thus allowing me some time to shop at my leisure (can't do that at Nordstroms!). When they tire of isle racing I can always get a few more hours of peaceful shopping in by dropping them off at the play area Wal-Mart provides...it is fully stocked with toys for the kiddies to enjoy (and I think you can even purchase them if you like). :)

Put me in the dislike column. I cannot stand to shop there. Stuff is always thrown on the floor, the shelves are always a mess, I can hardly eveer find anything I am looking for, and many things seem to have been returned.

I am a Target shopper all the way!!

I never have a problem at our local Walmart which I frequent because I can get things like groceries and other items I need and not feel like I'm getting ripped off like I do in the supermarket.

As far as the screaming child with the mother who did nothing about it - that can and does happen in any department store - not just Walmart's.

If your DD is a cheerleader, it's been awhile since you've lugged a small child around. Sometimes the best way to deal with a tantrum is to just let the child scream it out. It's better than letting them get their way. Of course if it's excessive and disturbing, then enough's enough...but sometimes you have to let them be...this really has nothing to do with Walmart.

I'm kind of indifferent to my Wal-Mart... it isn't totally trashy, but we have had (at work) many troubles getting some bookshelves from there that weren't missing pieces (had to put it together ourselves). We gave up after three times of the exact same thing! It isn't the cleanest, but it is far better than the K-marts we had. I used to love Target and only want to shop there, but their selection at our Target is diminishing and things I used to have no trouble finding, they don't carry at all... fortunately Wal-Mart still carries them. So I go there... only when I feel like stopping in after work though since it is a further drive than Target for me.

You are too funny.

I live an HOUR from a grocery store. With that kind of drive, it's much easier for me to do everything in one stop at SuperWalmart. Plus, they match any ad prices, so that keeps things simple! And I have my grocery list written up to match thier aisles so it's easy and fast....well, as fast as grocery shopping can be for me. :-) If we had supertarget or superkmart, i'd try them out...but until we do, i'll be a superwalmart shopper. Plus thier gas is about 15cents cheaper than I can buy it out here in the boonies.

I've got 3 walmarts within 15 minutes of me and each time I go in looking for something (which you know they have) the sales clerks have no clue and it's the standard line" sorry but that's not my department".

I'm not a big Walmart fan either. We have a Super-Walmart that opened about a year and a half ago and so far, they've been keeping it up nicely, it's always clean and the shelves are well stocked. It's always crowded even at midnight and 6AM! I just can't stand some of the people shopping in there! Some of them look they are on a day pass with the local prison!

I prefer Target over Walmart. I haven't been in K-Mart in about two years, last time I was in there it was like shopping in a third world country, what a mess!

As far as WalMart, I dislike it enough to go there only if absolutely necessary - which is almost never. Its always crowded, always messy, hard to find what you want, and the prices really aren't much cheaper.

As far as the kids with the tantrums, why can't the mom or dad just step outside the store while letting their child "yell it out?" No one wants to have to listen to that. I think it is rude to other customers to allow your child to carry on on public like that. No one at Walmart is going to do anything with your cart of stuff, you can just leave it and come back to it.

Our Walmart drives me crazy! I only shop there if I'm out of options. It is an older store and is so jam packed with "stuff," you can't hardly get a cart through the aisles. The clerks are not that friendly and I blame it on their management.

Our target on the other hand, starts each day with their employees recognizing them for birthdays, employee of the day etc and they are usually singing a song when the store opens. I have been in there to witness it. I have complimented the management there for keeping their employees pumped up and I have never had any problem getting help there. Also, Target will open another line if too they get swamped with customers, Walmart on the other hand will just let you stand there.

Uggh I hate Wal-Mart, talk about stupid people working.....oh my goodness, they will hire anyone and no one knows anything about anything. I just had an uproar with them in the photo department a few days ago. They have no idea where my digital pictures are and they have no idea how to work the machine and they could care less about any of it.

BUT unfortunatly Wal-mart is all we have, no Target, so I have no choice. Its sad really. Defenatly not what Sam Walton would have wanted.

Which Wal-Mart in CT are you talking about?:D

I don't really have a problem with Wal*Mart. For convienience, it's very easy, but I don't usually like the merchendise they sell as much as what they sell at Target or even K-Mart. I do usually get my film developed at Wal*Mart though.
