Sorry/mini-live trip report - finally, some pics!

Thank you for the pic,:thumbsup2 NEED MORE !! (if you get time :goodvibes)
So, how are the crowds right now ?? Many or few there ??

Leslie,

Thanks for the pictures. I am a fan of the multi-generational vacations notsomuch for you or your husband (that generation) but for the relaxed extended time that kids can spend with grandparents - it sounds like everyone gets along. I hope the kids will remember this in the future. It's time together that won't last forever. Everyone will have to go home soon.

Good report!

We have company in town from Texas so we're going to the studios tomorrow. How have the crowds been this week?

Thanks for chiming in, guys! Today was another amazing day. Breakfast for all 10 of us in the cabin, then off to DHS. The crowds these days are pretty significant (to me), but it really wasn't too bad there today. We stayed at the park longer than I expected, but Jodi and I made it back to the fort around 2:30 or so. I then did what I had been wanting to do the whole trip - got out on a bike by myself and just went exploring. Most loops appeared to be very full, and it was just a very relaxed atmosphere (as usual). I went to loop 500 to try to meet DaveInTn, but he wasn't at home. (Happily, I did get to meet him later in the day. Nice site. I hear the fishing is great there, Frank.) Right after I left his place, though, I figured out that my cell phone (brand new at that) had fallen out of my pocket somewhere between loops 1100 and 500. I retraced my steps multiple times, but couldn't find it. Ugh. But, being that the fort gods were smiling on me, someone turned it in at Trails End and I had it back within about an hour. Amazing. Goes to show what kind of people stay at FW. :goodvibes

Anyway, we finally eventually made it to the pool where the kids (all but the 15 year old) swam for a looooong time. There was a good crowd at the pool, but really only kids in the pool. Most adults just weren't up for swimming in the windy conditions. (Either that, or they didn't want to have to get themselves back to their site cold and wet.)

Tonight was my night to provide dinner for the crowd. When it is my sister's turn, she will make the chicken casserole she cooked and froze a few weeks back. My parents have cooked homemade meals most every night for all of us. What do I do for my turn? Takeout from Trails End. :rolleyes1 Two pizzas plus a giddyup and go and we were set. Plus, I got to sit at Crockett's Tavern and enjoy that scene for a while. Very nice.

We got to eat both lunch and dinner outside on the porch today. Sunny but cool - really sweet.

Sorry no pics today! I took some on my bike ride, at least till I figured out about my lost phone. And, while I had the best intentions on heading over to River Country to do some recon, I didn't get that done either. Again, I blame the phone.

I leave tomorrow! :sad1: My nephew (7) and I are flying out tomorrow afternoon, but everyone else is staying till Thursday. (What kind of justice is that?) I should be able to update one more time on this thread. But, I'm already working on a full-fledged report with pictures and everything. I'll let you know when I get it going.

Signing off from my last night at the fort....

Ha! In my best Austin Powers voice "I'm. Dude baby!".

Ha! I understand though, Shasta could be either.

I hope to meet you guys one day this week. I met Dave Sunday, great guy.

Sorry to have dropped the ball on this live report. I'm now back home :sad1: but my family is still enjoying all that WDW and FW have to offer. Before I left, I did get to meet DaveInTn and Shasta (Perry). I can confirm that much to my surprise, Shasta is a guy! Sorry Perry! I don't know how I got that so wrong.

Anyway, I'm already working on a trip report, so I'll make sure to let y'all know when I get it online.

Missing the fort....

Leslie

It looks so nice and warm there now!
We were there in February...it was cold and damp..oh, well, still had a great time! We also had a multi-generation group, from MIL (84) and her sister (91)
down to great=grandson (5). And everyone inbetween. It was great!

Alright, gang - first installment is up! See the last report in my signature for a link. I hope to have lots of pics, especially of the fort, so I hope to not let y'all down!

We were at the pool around the time this picture was taken. The little boy that is walking in it was one of the kids my six year old tried to make friends with. She talks to everyone...

Did you have a golf cart? Because on Sunday Morning, I'm pretty sure if you did have a golf cart I took a picture of it parked by the boat docks... on our way to our 8am ADR for 1900 Park Fare. I'm going to find those pictures from the boat, maybe we were on the same one.

Edited to add: I just checked my pictures and it was your screen name on the golf cart. But my pictures on the boat are dark... so all but one I can't see the people in the back ground. The one that I can see the people in the background is blurry.

That's funny that we were in the same place at the same time - twice! Yes, that was my cart at the dock Sunday morning, but we would have been on different boats - we had 7:40 ADRs at Chef Mickeys, so we went to the CR.

I miss being there so much! One week ago I was on my first full day there. :sad1:

We were on the CR boat too... I'm not sure if MK was running yet. We were running behind for our ADR though so it could have been the boat right after yours. We got to the docks at about 7:20 or so and the boat was just docking, but there was a little line we were the last ones on the boat. I was going to take a picture of the line... but I didn't... :rotfl:

Well in that case, I bet we were on there together. How funny!
