Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

Beautiful tribute to Tracy. Great job, Mary Ellen.

Cute area, but from what I hear you can really get soaked here. So bring extra clothes if you decide to check it out. That goes for you adults, too!

It's not a Disney attraction unless you get sprayed with water somehow.

This IS our car

Front row...nice!

And just like Dumbo, the ride ended much too quickly!

Yeah, I never understood why that track is so short.:confused3

I remember the first time I rode the monorail from Epcot to the transportation center and back again. I thought it was SO awesome!

I love riding that loop at night. Even when I don't have park tickets, it feels like an attraction. :thumbsup2

Looking backwards. It had been years since I was in this building. In fact, it may have been my first trip over 10 years ago when the body wars ride was still running.

You'd think they would have big plans for this area. Seems like a waste of a prime location.

Cynthia picked up our seminar tickets and I took pictures of the pretty wine stoppers. I was now trying to decide whether to treat myself to one (I already have two other mickey versions at home so I decided against it)

Pick one up for Julie next time, ok? Thanks. :thumbsup2

Then I took pictures of all the wine bottles. I have a fixation with pretty bottles that contain alcohol. I am sure that is a question on a "Are you an alcoholic?" questionnaire somewhere.

::yes::

Also, watch out for blurry vision.

Skinny girl wine? Seriously, what marketing genius. Probably tastes like crap, but still genius!

Of course it tastes like crap. That's how you stay skinny. :rotfl2:

Note the blurred effect to the picture? That's probably what my vision was like after all the exertion.

Aha!:rotfl:

So good! And was really the perfect amount of food with us splitting the individual pizza and having an app! I would have that pizza again in a heartbeat.

Via Napoli is great. I want to get back there again.

Actually, after Dumbo I am fairly sure we took a bio break, hence the Casey Jr splash area pics as you have to basically walk through or around it to get to the restroom

I thought the new CM outfits were very well themed for this area

PA176517.jpg

PA176521.jpg

Looking at this elephant, you can definitely get soaked here! Though it wasn't warm enough for anyone to be playing in it yet, and was early in the day, the ground was soaked. We may avoid this in December. Then again crazy boys may get wet on purpose and then whine that they are cold and need to buy a new shirt or sweatshirt. What do you bet?

There was a merchandise kiosk there that sold beach towels. Smart!
My barnstormer pics aren't much different but here’s a few

I absolutely love the theming here. Perhaps because I've got one flyboy and one Goofy? Combo of 2 of my favorite people in one ride.

I wonder if the queue ever really stretches back this far? At least they have some shade which is nice.

PA176532.jpg

It would be fun if some of these guys were at the meet and greet!

PA176541.jpg

Cute little snack cart on the way over to the big tent

PA176542.jpg

Who can you meet?

Well, these guys for one

PA176543.jpg

The meet and greet actually has 2 lines. You have to pick either the girls (Minnie and Daisy) or the boys (Donald and Goofy) As you can see, posted wait time on one side was 5 minutes.

PA176544.jpg

The wait time for the girls? None. There was literally no one on that side, we felt bad for the girls so went there, of course!

I really think the lighting in here is an issue. Check it out.

Ok, these are a little better

Minnie startled me with a kiss, she was happy to see me!

In addition to all the treats in the bakery case, the dump shop also had these, I am sure I’ll get hit up for a Goofy Glacier on our next family trip

PA176553.jpg

PA176556.jpg

These look so good but they are huge!

You can watch them making the treats

And with that, and the disappointing fact that there was nothing Fantasyland or Storybook Circus specific new in the way of merchandise it was time for the train.

PA176559.jpg

PA176560.jpg

Looks like someone was jumping the gun

PA176561.jpg

It’s a pretty ride out of this area

PA176562.jpg

I always love these guys though I’ve never understood what the relationship is to the speedway.

Oh there, that’s a bit more interesting

PA176565.jpg

If memory serves there was some kind of kid drama at home regarding a pick up (pretty sure it was Evan) and I was trying to coordinate the logistics. Whatever it was got worked out, Grandpa to the rescue! Apparently I put away the camera after that until we got to the festival center and all I took were the same signs Mary Ellen did. We did book it over to Italy and then probably waited another 5 or so to find out what was up with Mark and Anita before heading in. As we had our 1pm seminar we couldn't really wait any longer and sadly they were unable to meet us anyway. Which reminds me to try to not schedule a trip over when my AP ends. Not that is likely to ever happen but still, that would be frustrating.

I had the caprese salad to start

IMG_0984.jpg

And took a really bad shot of my slice of the yummy pizza

IMG_0986.jpg

That’s an ice tea in case anyone is wondering. Our plan for after the seminar called for checking out Food and Wine Kiosks so we didn't want to get started too early.

I still can’t believe we didn't get a picture of the 4 of us, totally lame. It was, again, a really yummy lunch and so much fun to see and catch up with Melissa and John. This is the 2nd time I've been to Via and I've loved it every time. While it’s been for lunch so far, I am fairly sure this will be a dinner reservation on our next family trip, it is definitely becoming a must do for me!

My kids LOVED Goofy's barnstormer - they went on it about 10 times during our trip (ask MaryAz, her kids did it with them at MNSSHP).
I like the displays too - First Aid, Second Aid!
And the line DOES get that long that you need those shade/umbrella thingies. We had to stand under them one day in October.
When we went into the tent we had only a short wait for Goofy and Donald, but it was too long to wait for Minnie and Daisy, so we skipped them.

Your Via Napoli meal looks so good!! I have to eat there next time for sure! Too bad no group pictures! I've done that before too.

ETA: I forgot - I've seen and tasted a Skinny Girl wine before and someone else had a SG mix for something - don't waste your money.

RE: Wilderness Lodge at 7 months - would it be impossible to get Christmas/NY time at 7 months?

Great updates! Too bad the lighting at the Meet and Greet was bad, Minnie and Daisy look cute in their circus costumes! I love the Barnstormer, it is such a cute roller coaster, the new theming looks fun too.

Awesome lunch at Via Napoli, I really want to try it there next time.

Great update! We love VN ... it's very close to real Italian food. :thumbsup2

I love all the pictures of the new areas. There was only a small part open we we went and I am so looking forward to explore it all. We are under 40 days now and I cannot wait! ;)

Yay for getting to ride the "new" Goofini! Mary Ellen, I kinda like the old name too but I can see why they felt the need to change it up.

I enjoyed looking at all of the water play area pictures. All of that was still under construction when we were there in May. You can totally tell that you'd get soaked if you attempted to walk through that area.

Yummy looking lunch you two had a Via Napoli. Our dinner there was fantastic. So much so that we are going back in May.

Love the Dumbo & Fantasyland pics. Barnstormer was DS17 favorite ride when he was little. Would love to see all 6' 3" of him on it in June for his graduation trip!

Looks like you had a fabulous ladies trip.

Love your trip reports! So happy to find time to DIS again!

I love your pictures from the Goofini and with the fab 5 characters! That eggplant salad looks delicious!

AHHHHH I need to go see Daisy dressed in those crazy clothes in Storybook Circus I love it!!!

Daisy really was way too cute for her own good. :rotfl:

I'm thinking I should have ventured into the Circus area! There certainly wasn't any crowd in there. AH well something to look forward to.:thumbsup2

You would have really liked how cute it is, but you're right - it will give you something to look forward too! Fun stuff!

I finally got my photos on PB, so I will get in gear & get started on my TR!:surfweb:

Yeah! :cool1: Yeah! :cool1: Yeah!:cool1: Make sure you let me know when you start!

It sure sounds like it! That is exciting and 6 credits is definitely something he can make up.

I think he needs a better advisor. He has to apply into the business program - he is still pre business. I don't think he's going to have enough credits to start next fall, but he needs a real advisor to help him decide. He has a student advisor. I guess they don't get a faculty until they are actually in. And Brian is not pushy enough to get the help he needs. If he take 17 credits and a summer class he would have enough, but I'm not sure if that's the right move for him.

Well I wouldn't really call them leftover lol but honestly after Aulani and then the big trip (which is a crazy amount of points) I didn't think I was even going to have anything left to borrow until 2015! Which for me starts in Dec of 2014 and that's always a little weird. I think though, in looking at it that I will have some avail and still be able to get caught up for whatever family trip comes next. I guess the good news is all these bigger trips in a row pays off the investment pretty darn fast.

Yeah - I stopped figuring out when I got my money's worth. I don't even care. When I see the resort room prices I'm glad I have it.

There are a few postings on some of the FB DIS/DVC threads about it, let me know if you don't see them, they are adding some seriously cool things so I hope they are there in 2014 as well!

I guess I should probably go on FB on my computer. I always do it from my phone. I can't get used to how chaotic the computer set up looks. Its not good for my ADD! :rotfl:

I need to get the E's on the Great Goofini as well, I thought it was darn cute but that splash area really was the best thing there, they did such a great job with it!

I think they would love it, even though they are turning into young men right before your eyes.

I was a little bummed with these pictures. I mean I take lousy interior low light pics but you'd think if they set it up as a PP area, they'd have the lighting right and in all our shots, I thought the lighting was a huge issue, just off coloring big time.

I couldn't even edit mine brighter, which was a bummer. Usually I can. And a flash would be way too much glare. They should put some low level back lighting in there.

I really liked the area overall and was pleased we were able to basically do the whole thing in an hour. :thumbsup2 it was empty!

I liked the area too. I'm sure I liked it a lot more than I ever well this June. :rotfl:

I was a little jealous, so many cute things in that shop I wanted to look at and we didn't have time. I was also annoyed that I couldn't get our 2nd seminar tickets at the same time, I think that's silly. Funny thing is I'd really thought I'd pick up a bottle somewhere along the trip to take back to the room and never did.

I thought about buying a bottle to take home but my bag was so overstuffed I was afraid too. I think I was 49Lbs at weigh in. :rotfl:

The 4 of us waited a bit trying to get a hold of them before we found out, it was such a bummer! They had bought the new PAP's already I think but were going to wait to activate, which makes sense but was a bummer. It was so fun to finally meet John and fabulous to see Melissa again. I can't believe we didn't get a picture, totally lame.

I know. I wish anita had realized that because she seemed so gung-ho when I told her Melissa could change the ADR to 6 people. Oh well, I guess when you go as much as Anita and Marc you lose track.

I loved that pizza! And my app, which I will post a picture of. My gang wouldn't go for what was on the pizza so it was so fun, although odd that I actually had eggplant 2 days in a row, I never have eggplant. I mean ever! Not that I don't like it, I do, there are just other things I like better and Jeff truly despises it.

That pizza was SO GOOD! Denny loves eggplant and he grows it during the summer and makes some fantastic dishes with it. He would have loved that pizza. I really need to take him there for lunch. The two of us could easily split a pizza and be good. Better than the QS lines, that's for sure.

Clean bathroom, huh? That won't last long.. I promise. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Tell me about it! :rotfl: The next I visit I shudder to think .......:scared1:

Great update, MaryEllen. LOVE the photopass pictures of you and Cynthia in the big tent! Very cute...especially with Minnie.

Thanks. I can't believe there was no one in there. That was the best part. Just walked right in like rock stars.

I have to say I miss Body Wars and that area; I wish they would do something with it.

I guess they are just going to use it for festival centers, which keeps it occupied like what - 5 months out of the year. I agree - perhaps it could have another use.

Skinnygirl wine? Seriously? What will they come up with next?

That Bethany Frankel. Sheesh. I had a skinny cocktail once and they only thing that made it skinny was the size of it. I probably consumed it in three gulps. Never again. If I want a skinny girl cocktail I put rum in a diet coke. :rolleyes1

Your lunch looks very yummy.

That pizza was REALLY good! :goodvibes

Guys - I've got to work some on my soccer video tonight, so I hope I get back later for some more replies. Sorry - its going to be a busy 10 days till I have this thing in the can.

Cynthia. They had storybook circus merchandise when we were there in November. There were shirts.

Your appetizer looked delicious. We need to eat there. Tom loves pizza so I know he would like it.

Great update!

Thank you! I realized right before I posted that I had that PP picture of the 3 of us and I forgot to put it back into my iPhoto. I quick got it out of photo bucket! So glad I remembered it was missing. :goodvibes

I'm so glad you thought of it :goodvibes

my kids are so excited that the barnstormer will be back on our next trip, they have missed it!

I have never done the monorail between MK and EPCOT :scared1: I will have to put it on my list for the next trip. It's looking like a Christmas trip is likely so I am thinking of things to do that won't require standing in long lines and crowds.

I really must get to Via Napoli! your pizza looks delish and I love those ovens. Did you know the names above them are names of Italian volcanoes? I get such a kick out of that touch!

Adorable photos with Minnie & Daisy, ladies! We had great fun with those 2 on our trip as well. I really love that new M&G area, and the costumes the characters are in. Storybook Circus is a great new area of the park! After riding Barnstormer a couple times with DS on our trip, I can't even imagine waiting more than 5 minutes for it. It seems like you are done in seconds!!!

Mmmmm Via Napoli!!! That is the one place on Disney property I literally crave between trips!!!

Once again great pics ladies! I LOVED all the pictures of the treats!:thumbsup2

Thanks!

My kids LOVED Goofy's barnstormer - they went on it about 10 times during our trip (ask MaryAz, her kids did it with them at MNSSHP).
I like the displays too - First Aid, Second Aid!

RE: Wilderness Lodge at 7 months - would it be impossible to get Christmas/NY time at 7 months?

Mary Ellen will have to weigh in on VWL at 7m, I think it would be tough but anything is worth a shot I think, that's the whole point of a waitlist! I'll pass on the skinny girl stuff, at that point I'll just take an ice tea at zero calories. I can't believe the lines were that long in Oct for you at Barnstormer, it was absolutely deserted when we were there.

The outfits and the whole tent is adorable, I do wish we'd seen the boys too, maybe next year with my boys (I hope).

Caprese salad is one of my favorites! It looks delicious :)

It was outstanding. A little heavy on the oil but it was so good!!!

Great update! We love VN ... it's very close to real Italian food. :thumbsup2

I love all the pictures of the new areas. There was only a small part open we we went and I am so looking forward to explore it all. We are under 40 days now and I cannot wait! ;)

I adore ViaN, can't wait for next Dec, I'm going to insist it's in the line up.

Technically I don't think the name actually changed but they are marketing the Great Goofini aspect of it pretty heavily. Not sure, I'd have to look at a map to confirm. That water play will be a dead zone in the cooler times, kind of interesting that they gave that much real estate to it but then again, something like that was really needed at MK so it will be the opposite in the summer for sure!

Great updates ladies. I might have to add this restaurant to the list.

You should, it's just wonderful!

6'3" that would be fun to see!

I love your pictures from the Goofini and with the fab 5 characters! That eggplant salad looks delicious!

The meet and great area and outfits really are adorable, they did a great job in the whole area I think.

We are seeing the same exact thing with Taylor. He could do it in 2 years if he was on top of it...but he's not as best as we can tell and nor is he seeking advice that I'm sure is available to him. Very frustrating. Eric is like this too, waits for someone to tell him instead of finding it on their own.

I couldn't even edit mine brighter, which was a bummer. Usually I can. And a flash would be way too much glare. They should put some low level back lighting in there.

I liked the area too. I'm sure I liked it a lot more than I ever well this June. :rotfl:

I tried editing too, same issue. UGH that area in June will be ugly. But the nephews will eat it up!

I thought about buying a bottle to take home but my bag was so overstuffed I was afraid too. I think I was 49Lbs at weigh in. :rotfl:

Hey at least you didn't have to move stuff around to get it under the limit. I was pretty proud of how light mine was, better packing than usual though man I had a hard time getting it closed. One day I'll bust a zipper.

I know. I wish anita had realized that because she seemed so gung-ho when I told her Melissa could change the ADR to 6 people. Oh well, I guess when you go as much as Anita and Marc you lose track.

Seriously!

That pizza was SO GOOD! Denny loves eggplant and he grows it during the summer and makes some fantastic dishes with it. He would have loved that pizza. I really need to take him there for lunch. The two of us could easily split a pizza and be good. Better than the QS lines, that's for sure.

Oh definitely better than QS and not much more $$.

Cynthia. They had storybook circus merchandise when we were there in November. There were shirts.

They had the Dumbo I'm so fly stuff but nothing that was exclusive to Storybook Circus. Somethign to look forward to, I'd been hoping for a mug.

Your appetizer looked delicious. We need to eat there. Tom loves pizza so I know he would like it.

Great update!

It is a great restaurant, very traditional Naples style pizza. Yum!

Cynthia love your shirt! I noticed the Margarita on the front. Where did find it?

From Margaritaville! It says "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes" on the back. I really like it, got it on the summer trip (it will show up in my souvie post at the end of my TR lol). It was funny though as I was really eyeing a different one and Evan and then the rest of the gang picked this one out and convinced me I needed it.

I love those ovens. I can't believe you've never done the monorail between Epcot and MK! That is a must do. Although it will be full at Christmas. I was just discussing with my mom today that we need to ride it around the MK resorts to check out their decorations. And have a drink at each stop. And send the kids to the arcade while we do it.

:rotfl:

Adorable photos with Minnie & Daisy, ladies! We had great fun with those 2 on our trip as well. I really love that new M&G area, and the costumes the characters are in. Storybook Circus is a great new area of the park! After riding Barnstormer a couple times with DS on our trip, I can't even imagine waiting more than 5 minutes for it. Mmmmm Via Napoli!!! That is the one place on Disney property I literally crave between trips!!!

Via Napoli sounds so good right now! I guess the rides are short on purpose as they have a pretty young target audience? And are so popular that they want to move folks through as fast as possible? I do wish they were longer.

Great addition to MaryEllen's update. I really wish I had known those Meet and Greets were there...we totally missed them.

Your lunch looks yummy.

Sorry you forgot to get a picture of your DIS meet.
