O.k., I am really trying to talk my DH into buying DVC,but I have a question and could use some help. If I buy DVC (resale) ,Vero Beach, can I just always use those points at a WDW DVC resort instead of VB? Hope this makes sense?:confused3

Right now, yes, you can just use Vero points to stay at the WDW resorts. But....

Each resort has the possibility of being spun off from the DVC system. The likelihood of that happening is pretty small, but is probably highest at Vero and Hilton Head. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk of buying at Vero if I really wanted to stay at Disney. Others on this board think the risk so small that it is best ignored.

However, there is a much better reason not to buy at Vero if you intent to use the points at WDW. The maintenance fees at Vero are higher than at the WDW resorts. Over the life of your contract, you'll pay more in maintenance fees than your initial buy-in. Even though the cost per point is lower at Vero, it will end up costing you more in the long run.

Vero is a great resort. Buy there if you intent to stay there at times. But don't buy there trying to get the cheapest possible points.

Besides what Sal said:

You would not have a home resort advantage at any WDW resort, meaning you would only be allowed to book at the 7-month window. This means you would never be able to get some of the more popular villas/dates that always book completely by home resort owners. The best example of this would be a standard view studio at BWV for New Year's Eve. Those are usually all gone by about 2 hours into the 11-month booking window.

Hard to get times include the first two weeks in December, New Years Eve, Spring break, all holiday periods.

Hard to get resorts include Standard view villas at BWV, Grand Villas at OKW, Studios in general, especially at BWV and BCV.

Just FYI.
