Hi.I made reservations thru Hotel Kingdom.com Friday night. It's for the night of April 4th for one night...That was after I tried Priceline and Tee Times USA and neither came thru for me.
So like I said I booked two rooms online Friday night next to a hotel that said 'instant confirmation' well I did not receive an instant confirmation.
I received a 'request' for a reservation. Not good because I needed it for Tuesday night. So I called Hotel Kingdom Saturday morning and it said they are open Monday thru Friday,9am till 5pm.I end up having to wait to call at 9am this morning to confirm a reservation that is for tommorrow night. The girl said she just received the FAX on it this morning and would e-mail a confirmation. Are you still with me? I don't explain things very well...
So I did get the e-mail this morning.I did ask her to change the number of adults/children for each room but it was not changed on the confirmation.
I called hotel which I booked thru Hotel Kingdom.com to confirm THEY had the reservation in their system and the lady told me if I booked it thru Hotel Kingdom.com that I had to call THEM and get it confirmed. That the hotel would not have our reservation in their system...WHAT? Is it going to be in the hotels system by tommorrow night when we check-in?? What's going on?
I don't get this and I don't like it either...If the hotel does not have our reservation what are we going to do? Call Hotel Kingdom.com...I don't think so...their hours are Monday thru Friday,9-5pm....
Any comments,suggestions,Please help me understand...
Thanks.
Debbie
Sorry this was so long winded...

You should be fine with the email. Take it with you when you check in.
I seem to recall this is normal. I used them in 2004 and booked in June this year thru them. They tell you not to clal hotel since you will not be in system. Didn't you get an email from the hotel though for payment?
I booked 9 nights and one charge hit my credit card from hotel kingdom for one night which I gues is their referal cut. The second charge was for the remainder of the bill.

pparring,Thank you for your reply! Yes we did pay a down payment to Hotel Kingdom for $26.00 and the balance is paid to the hotel upon arrival. We just wanted to be sure they had our reservation. Our flight does not get in until 10pm so the last thing we want to do is get to the hotel and find out they don't have our reservation.Every other website shows this hotel completely booked.I guess that's why I'm worried.
I feel better now that you've let me know this is the norm.Thanks.
Debbie

I can't recall ever reading that someone has had any problems with www.hotelkingdom.com ..

I'm glad pparring was able to help out:) Thanks!

It would be a little nerve wracking for us too, arriving later at night, and wondering if we'd have a room:)

Have a wonderful trip!!

Definitely take the e-mail. I'm sure it will all be fine. Since they've charged your credit card, if the very worst happened when you got there (which it WON'T), you could always call the credit card company (24/7) from the check-in desk and have them confirm to the hotel that the hotel already charged you, so they'd better get you a room.

I've used hotelkingdom a lot with no problems. Well, one small problem on a room I booked recently for May---we were overcharged on the second charge from the hotel. I called HK and they took care of it---great customer service! Sounds like some glitch hit you with your instant confirmation. I agree with the others, bring your e-mail copy with reservation numbers. Also, I would call the hotel at some point in your travel day of arrival to confirm that you will be a late check-in. I assume you'll be in their system by then, and that way you won't have to worry about not having a room that night.

Where will you be staying?

Hi,We stayed at the Best Western Airport Inn on Aircenter Court off of Exit 8 of the Beeline Expressway. They did have both our rooms for us at check-in on Tuesday night when we arrived.
And they even upgraded both rooms to queen-bed suites. That had two queen beds and a sleeper sofa.It was very roomy, the beds were comfortable and we also had a microwave, refridgerator and coffee maker. It was great. We were very happy we stayed there. It only took us about 10 minutes after we left the airport to get to our hotel.
Very nice, very convenient, good service and they serve a complimentary continental breakfast!
Wow.We lucked out with this one. We'll definitely book thru Hotel Kingdom and stay at the Best Western Airport Inn again!
We are staying at our vacation home in Acadia Estates (which is wonderful) right now.I just wanted to hop on the internet and update everyone.
Thanks for your suggestions and comments.

There have been some mang. changes recently w/ hotelkingdom and it just seems they are still ironing out a few bugs. They've always been a great site to go through. I'm sorry you had those few moments where you had to sweat it out. However, I am glad to see it worked out for you in the end and that you'd even use them again!!! That says a lot!!
